you wouldn't know it but clocked up the 7th year anniversary with the Divas…what better way to celebrate than to have the guys over to share their joys :)

http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/73120-gtg-at-al-the-mods-joint-today/

and they generously came bearing gifts …. plus plenty of music for the Diva's to pleasure them with :D

music of all sorts of genre and ages on digital and analog forms…to home theatre from action flicks to animation, to a concert video and then to finish up the day with the Divas belting out orchestral dynamics at full tilt   :thumb:

7 year itch ? not on your life…yes at times the eyes and ears have wandered…but how could I part with these gorgeous beauties  :love

heres to the next  7 years  :party  my lovelies…

….. or so I tell my wife when she gets jealous  :nana

:thumb: Happy Anniversary Al. Those Diva's are gorgeous.

Let's play "what if", Al. ;)

Care to elaborate on what the eyes and ears have wandered to?

easy question to answer MM, over the years have heard a few speakers, all sorts. And keeping in mind my setting, kind of music I listen to 2ch/ht duties there are a couple of speakers that have definitely had me taking a second glance...

the B&W 802D/diamond,

I see these as very similar to the Diva's same price bracket and quite house/lounge room friendly, gorgeous looks with real wood grain finish like the Divas and also similar in sound to them with vibrant top end, mid range warmth and fruity bass …I have at times wondered if I didn't have my Divas today which speaker would I get, and its quite likely the 802Ds is what I'd have.

alternatively if going on with the focal range,

in the Focal Scala Utopia 2

not totally sure on the looks,, would miss the more slender form of the Divas and their gorgeous wood grain signature finish, price wise quite a hike up ...though am sure in sonics a step up from the Divas

at end of it how would either sound vs my Divas who knows…would probably have to get them in the setting to see how they compare….but not a comparison would do in case had the urge to buy :)

talking about gaming earlier, well finally gave DriveClub a whirl today…and hooray this is car racing gaming as I remember :D

even my little 6 year old daughter couldn't help wanting to grab the game console…and my wife joined in for a spin too hehe good bit of fun…ok so there are two games on the ps4 I like hehe. maybe it can stay after all….will be getting a steering wheel for this I think  :party

Do you use the plasma or projector for gaming?

How's the lag on the projector when gaming?

hi kaynin, we use both….the plasma if we have the windows / curtains open. projector if we can darken the room. the projector experience is the ONE though…playing drive club today…really feels like on the race track behind the wheel. so much enveloping in sound and picture :)

haven't detected any lag no matter plasma or projector :)

That's great news!  Plus the accuracy of the positioning of sounds within your system adds to the experience 10 fold.

Man...7 days wait now for my install...and counting...

oh its awesome. drive club has a 7.1 audio so can hear cars behind and as they sneak up the side…or when smack into a barrier  ! works in well with what can see on the screen and the effects all around :D

hehe I wish, no change in colour scheme...but for carpets we have chosen what looks like a charcoal...with a hint of brown.... now that is a huge surprise and should help things home theatre wise for the projector :)

theres some Divas under there !

It's a pain having to empty a room like that :(

Hopefully the cat doesn't use the Diva's as a scratching pole :P

last few days have been productive ! :)

pulled out the yellow tongue and with a "pumkin patch"

imageproxy.php-47.jpeg

took opportunity to finally run my surrounds cables inside the walls, under the house to where the power amp sits (only taken me 10 years ! )

sealed up the pumpkin patch, fresh coat of paint and has come up pretty neat :)

imageproxy.php-48.jpeg

at other end have come up inside the wall next to where power amp sits, added a wall plate so the four surrounds now neatly and discretely run up through the wall to the amp. Pretty pleased with myself and end result. Last time I ran cables in walls I got a sparkie to do for me and I worked as helper. learnt a few tricks of the trade and pretty chuffed to now be able to do by myself :)

Excellent work & very professional - @ :) al  !

More than I would tackle!

Just have a couple of speaker leads bothering me that need re-routing through the wall(s) - when you're finished with yours of course.  :D
