Sounds good mate

 

Getting there. Next up tile the hearth. Then picture rails and then start work on the mantle.

Will start working on my hifi rack after all that’s done.

I reckon thats going to be a great room when finished (oh course I reserve all judgement until I get an invite in person to audition ?)

What's the plan for the hearth mate? You have tiles picked out?

Looking good - also hoping for an invite

They are a small black marble herring bone pattern. With some Jarrah quad around it to match the rest of the house. The mantle is going to look something like this. Excuse the rough drawing.

 

It will be curved around the fireplace as well, painted black. 

The rack will have jarrah shelves, I have some very nice stuff put aside in the shed. It will have black Quadraspire 19mm thick legs. Cheating a little but should make it look nice and professional. Shelves will have curves in them and also chamfered edges. I could have stuffed around with threaded rod, but the Quadraspire legs were reasonably priced, straight forward to put together and should look really good.

Your welcome anytime you’re in the neighbourhood mate. 

Room isn’t finished yet but close enough to be able to get the system back in. Need to make the mantle, fit off a couple of power points and switches. Then make the rack for all the gear to go on. 

Unfortunately the sound of the room has changed dramatically, not in a good way either. Very nasally and a little echoey. Will have a play around a little more. At least it looks pretty good and the missus is happy.

I love the symmetry.

Perhaps a big hairy floor rug close to the Soniques will help tame the room.

Cheers mate. We have a smallish rug, I think I’ve found the source of the problem. There is nothing in the fireplace. I stuffed some pillows in there this morning and seemed to fix it a little. Might have a bit of a gtg when it’s all done. Will let you know.

Had I bad echo sound when I first set the room up. A bit of dodgy room treatment and I think this is the best sound I’ve had in this room. Can’t wait to get the rack built and get the big Kenwood back in.

Looking good mate! I'm glad you finally found a use for all the excess pillows crowding up beds all over the world![emoji13]

The Room is pretty much done.

I added a Bluesound vault at Christmas time. Very nice bit of kit, it's awesome having all my music at my fingertips. Sound pretty good too.

 

I finally received the Meridian 501, they just ooze class I think. Had a decent listen to it but I think my system sounds best with the Ming Da valve pre in. 

 

 

One last big change coming. 

 

 

 

The Sonique's are going on a roadtrip next to their new owner. Gave them a bit of a oil and a polish today. They look amazing, will be sad to see them go.

Definitely wasn’t me who styled the room mate. ?

Has come up pretty nice though. I really need some more soft furnishings as the room is a bit echoey.

Hopefully the new speakers are ok ?
