Soundscape Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 That is a decidedly non-brazillian keystone; very 70s
LogicprObe Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Yes, but Micheal Leunig was as mad as ever back then.
Dismord Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 (edited) Yes, but Micheal Leunig was as mad as ever back then. Yes, but before he became a bible basher we at least had on chance in three of getting the joke. Edited April 29, 2012 by Dismord
LogicprObe Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Yes, but before he became a bible basher we at least had on chance in three of getting the joke. Ha! I didn't know he'd 'seen the light'!
surprisetech Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 I love all the Rainbow album covers, but Rainbow Rising is the favorite.
Guest dingo Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Well done Dor, excellent examples of Gabbys' particular brand of derangement. Do you have the excellent LOCUST ABORTION TECHNICIAN cover at hand to post. For those not familiar, it is a , well tribute is the wrong word, but influenced by the sensitive kiddies art of everyone's favorite mass murderer/ kiddie artist , John Wayne Gacy. On a trivia note, the KINKS once played a concert in the Midwest , and were later invited home for a meal by the promoter, a certain Mr Gacy, who had his eye on Dave Davies apparently. There's a whole concept album in there for Ray, when next his creative juices wane ( no pun intended). Back to the cooking, Argus playing loudly in the next room, nothing under the floorboards, honest,Dingo. Edited April 30, 2012 by dingo
Guest dingo Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Here's a couple I thought of over lunch. Great selection there. It is some interest that Pavlovs Dogs' first album, PAMPERED MENIAL has never been out of print in Australia and sounds as contemporary and distinctive now as it ever did. AT THE SOUND OF A BELL, is excellent, but lacks the madness of Seigfried Carver, IMHO. Dingo.
soundfan Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 This would be the only LP I ever purchased just for the album art.
Guest dingo Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 just for you dingo, thanks Dor, check in the crawlspace, I left something for you! ......peace and love, Dingo.
Toisich-Jnr Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Always liked this one. Original double LP cover opens right out so you get a lot more artwork. Edited April 30, 2012 by Toisich-Jnr
Batty Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Always liked this one. Original double LP cover opens right out so you get a lot more artwork. I was listening to the original UK release of this on Saturday.
Janjuggler Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 (edited) Just remembered Urs Amann who did cover Art for Klaus Schulze: There are different covers for Picture Music, with this seen as the one by Amann as originally commissioned by Schulze but rejected by the record label for an 'in house' cover ....
