No.

Edit number two: If i get anywhere near your place, don't I have to bring a set of 401's or something to add to your collection?...

Definitely not, mate.........

.................if you're feeling that generous, lots of other speakers are perfectly acceptable, too. Happy to send a list of the preferred ones.B)

One of the things about going to Adelaide is to enjoy 40c days over Xmas, I'm leaving the mouldy wet damp overcast thoroughly grey and cold sub tropics for this. Say it aint so!

Edit: Thanks Tony will do:D

Well, we certainly are getting some mouldy wet Queensland style weather at the moment, but looks like its only going to last a couple of days. The 7 day forecast says 30C and sunny for the 24th.

If you are staying at Glenelg, then you can easily catch a tram to the city from Moseley Square. Adelaide has had trams for over 100 years, by the way. There used to be quite an extensive network in years gone by, but it was mostly ripped up in the late 50s and early 60s, all except for the Glenelg line. That was recently extended through the city to the entertainment centre at Hindmarsh, and the old trams were replaced with new ones. Personally, I'm glad they upgraded it, but I do miss the old rattlers. They had real character, with their varnished wood interiors and leather seats. They did retain 5 of the old ones when they upgraded, and used to run them on weekends and public holidays, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside since they built the South Road overpass. Damn shame, I reckon. There are still a couple out at the St Kilda tram museum, by the way.

And while on the subject of museums, there are a few in Grumpy territory (ie: Port Adelaide B)). There is The Railway Museum, Maritime Museum and Aviation Museum, all within close proximity of each other. I'm not sure of christmas opening times.

And then of course, there is that old perennial area to visit, the Barossa Valley of course!

Or you could do the good old day trip to Victor Harbour, with the obligatory walk around Granite Island (which you can get to on a horse drawn tram via the causeway).

Ah, almost forgot to mention. The Cockle Train should be running between Victor Harbour and Goolwa over the christmas break. Best to check the website for running times, and which train they are running. They do run a steam locomotive, but I think they also run some old diesel locos at times.

National motor museum at Birdwood if you have a liking for all things petrol powered.

My street just flooded Tony. Forecast for more tonight too.

What again?

How did your street flood Tony? B)

Just had another look at the weather radar. Yoiks, some heavy looking stuff to the north of Adelaide. Looks like we might catch the edge of it.

What again?

I was waiting for you so we could play some tunes Paul.B)

Hi Luc

Welcome to Adelaide.

There are one day tours to Kangagroo Island that you could take. Its a beautiful place with lots to do and see, and King George whitings are caught fresh each morning.

Goolwa and Hindmarsh Island is an hours drive from the city with lovely beaches. You could also visit the mouth of the Murray river. Further south is the Coorong National Park where they made the movie Storm Boy. Lobsters are particularly good at this time of the year.

IF you are the church going type, then Adelaide is also called the City of Churches. Services at the city cathedrals feature wonderful choir and organ, and it is a great way to hear live music with good accoustics.

If you are going to Hahndorf, check out the Pot Belly Pie shop. Very popular and may be sold out by lunchtime, so get in early. Magneta Hi Fi is also nearby, but call ahead to arrange an appointment.

Sorry mate, you're out of date - Pot Belly Pies folded and disappeared a year or more ago. Damn shame it was, too - I really liked them, especially the scallop ones, but they were all good. I really can't understand how they didn't make a go of it, given they could sell as many pies as they could make at $6-7 a go. As you said, they usually sold out by early afternoon.

Also, Magenta Hifi closed their retail shop in Stirling before I got a chance to visit.B)

Just on that point, what hifi shops are there? I think I might of asked this earlier in the year but I've forgotton the answer(not much perhaps?)

Oh no, we were looking forward to another visit this summer.

Jim Tate on Goodwood rd

Challenge on Prospect rd

Blackwood Sound in, erm, Blackwood

Denis White on Unley rd (don't understand having only one 'n' in his name, surely should be pronounced 'deenis', like a similar word that begins with p?)

Sound and Vision Studio on Greenhill rd

And obviously VAF on North tce

Sounds like a busy christmas Luc:)

I would add to Bear's list with:

Pro AV Solutions on Magill Rd Stepney

Should also mention Pure Music Group at Mondie's

Regarding Magenta, I understand that they have ceased retailing, and focusing on distribution instead. But they would still be willing to demo their gears if you contact them in advance. Again, I may be out of date here.

+1 on the Barossa Valley and the Hills

Could go down the Star of Greece cafe in Port Willunga for a nice evening meal. Apparently its where the movie stars go, and Kylie. Its pretty nice watching the sunset this time of year. Food is a bit overpriced though

Sure does B) Hope I can fit at least some of the suggestions in in the time I've got.

30c and sunny for Xmas eve day Luc

they are saying 32c on the Saturday now Luc

Just don't drink any West End beer and you will be fine.

Also, don't bother with Denis White A to V on Unley road..........it sucks.

32 in Adelaide will be about 28 at Glenelg on Xmas day. Sometimes, it can be a bit breezy in the afternoon at the Bay.

You're in fine form today Anthony.

40+mm of rain so far (and still going) this weekend. Will be just a little steamy assuming the sun does make an appearance for XMAS.
