Having sold off most of my equipment last year to fund an overseas trip I had decided to settle with some pretty modest gear and focus on other things. But then I got the itch; maybe from looking too

Well a change in circumstance has seen some unpredicted down scaling and a room change over the past months. Most of my more exotic gear had to be sold to fund necessities but the music never stopped

    Upgrade complete

Nice work Matt I am looking forward to hearing that.

Yep, it's all coming along nicely. Quite a few LP's I thought were a bit meh...have really jumped to life. Getting all kinds of details and layers of sound. The TT and cart (Audio Technica PTG Prestige) really works a treat with SQ and really does a fantastic job of pushing surface noise right into the background. The Luxman really is a very flexible amp with both subsonic and high cut filters as well as the best tone controls I've seen on an integrated amp. With a few flicks I can sculpt the sound to match the record of needed. My thin sounding LP's sound fat and my fancy audiophile pressings sound transparent and, well...bang on. This combo has brought out the best in everything I've chucked at from metal to jazz to classical to electronic to whatever weird ass rubbish I chuck at it....and those speakers...wall shaking...bum humming and tinnitus causing when asked.

I've been really bad...

Moved to a small apartment in St Kilda from Frankston about 18 months ago...common sense said..."get rid of the JBL's"...which was done...sadly, I loved those guys. The tie-me-over speakers were a pair of Energy stand mount speakers...then the quest for some nice stand mounts appropriate for my room...and then...Tannoy Revolution XT 6F...hardly stand mounts...sounded awesome...but then I needed to fund a holiday so off they went...tie-me-over speakers were a stand mount pair of B&W's...can't remember the model...but the quest for nice stand mounts appropriate for my room continued...and technically I am now rockin' some fine stand mount speakers...but yeah...pics later for these...and yeah that's 5 speakers in under two years...

Here's a couple transition pics taken on iPhone and screen captured from instagram...

Yeah????

Good to have you back Mr. Fangs. That JBL combo you had back at the old place sounded very nice.

Also seems your records have been breeding between the time the two pics were taken ?

That's a Fiddle Leaf Fig and it's going nuts. Picked it up as a wee baby from Coles and I've repotted 3 times now. The patterns in the leaf are exquisite  - the brown spots tend to go away as it matures.leaf2a.thumb.jpg.a12f16600f60fbef611f1f015120aabb.jpg

Wow some pretty big changes there! What speakers are those? look great along with the room.

Hmmm Kode9 , Electric Wizard.........sounds like another GTG is in order 👍

Whatmough Audio Ondine - I am told these were Colin's prototype. There's a few extra screw holes as testament (🤘) to his process. Hmmmm a GTG...perhaps soon...been stocking up on Blood Incantation records...

Bonnie Prince Billie is the best, and largely overlooked I think in the Hi Fi world. First time I have seen someone else who likes him.
