Need to ask a question but might not be a good one. Any opinions on which console would be better for racing games with rally being the bigger style I'm looking at. Is that like asking which out of Samsung and Apple is better?

WRC 10 is by far the best rally game there is , awesome adrenaline rush but it's not cross platform , eg you won't see the pc leaderboards if you were on console and visa versa.

It's available on PC and both consoles , well worth purchasing , it's all I play now as it's just so much fun.

  • I went a little bit silly a while back and took over the kid's toyroom, much to their disgust. This started out as a way of getting them used to driving, whilst also giving me some thrills from time t

  • Hopefully with all this sim stuff I'll be able to get back to the real thing sometime next year..   Photos below for fun and interest - feel free to remove if too far off topic @StereoNET

Any feedback on Project Cars 2? I have been playing a lot of Dirt 5, but in the lead up to GT7, I wanted to dabble in more sim like racing and I have found PC2 incredibly hard to keep the car steady, constantly oversteering on corners. Also, it seems as though I am heavily effected when another car bumps me.

I played it a couple of times and found it to be very arcade game like. Assuming you're on PS4/PS5 I'd go for Assetto Corsa Competitione - I found this to be quite engaging and alot more realistic than PC2 or GT.

The WRC rally games are good (sim style), see if there's any on special at the stores atm. I picked up WRC 7 for around $6 today and quite enjoy it.

I have been playing Dirt Rally 2.0 and enjoying it, Dirt 5 too. WRC 9 is on my list!

I have Dirt 5, its quite good and has an arcade feel, not tried Dirt Rally series.

The WRC ones are definitely more simulator inclined.

Dirt Rally 2.0 i think is the spiritual successor to the old Colin McRae rally games.

Racing single car through various different regions against the clock (of competing cars).

I enjoy it as I can focus more on the drive rather than worrying about someone knocking into me.

Pretty sure I got it for free on PS Plus, but it feels decent to play.

Xbox is having a racing game sale, I've been able to pick up Dirt 5, Assetto Corsa, WRC 7 and Dirt Rally 2.0 for around $30.

I didn't buy Dirt Rally 2.0 until you mentioned it, it really is quite fun.

Here's me on the second course in career mode. :P

The reviews have started coming in for GT7, so far looking pretty solid.

Curious - what makes it being online only an issue?

They explain towards the end, but effectively it means that should the servers be disconnected, you cannot play at all.

Having said that, I find it unlikely that this won't be remedied at some point in the future.

To much faffing around when all you want to do is have a quick race around a track trying to beat your best time.

Ahh - I didn't watch the video. Now I get it.

Yea - not cool. Its bad enough when the old version of GT on the PS4 complains about not being connected..

My NBN just went down & may not be fixed until Monday... So I can't play GT7 all weekend!

Some people have reported to be playing it offline using the disc?

It seems to be a save thing - In order to prevent "cheating" (unsure how exactly), the system needs to be linked to PD's servers for saves.

Got my NBN fixed, GT7 installed (and patched), just getting through the license tests now… (easy way to get free cars!)

Got all of mine with relative ease with the exception of the last test on the special licence, that was hellish. Loving it thus far - Collector Level 18 or so now.

Also enjoying GT7 so far. Certainly harder to drive than sport and better feedback through the wheel.
