betty boop Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 (edited) gone the simple minimalist approach here ... just wheel and pedals - nothing as elaborate of the other rigs here, but suits our lounge room setup for more casual gaming. pull upto couch and folds up and packs away discretely to slide under a table out of site its logitech steering G923 wheel and pedals and on a xbox one X..we tend to run it either on projector screen for larger screen experience or 65" oled...both are great as is the surround sound that places you in the car with stuff going on all around you with 7.1.6 speaker setup in the room the wheel stand is the Wheel stand pro from poland and its been worth every cent ! I did buy a Next Level Racing Wheel Stand Lite from amazon prior to this one... and it was utter rubbish in build, fit finish and was hardly "lite" - sent that right back no issues to amazon. Tweaky Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 I bought a Next Level Racing stand...Not the LITE version, a few years ago and it's very sturdy, weighs around 15kg and folds up with everything attached slim enough to hide away in a corner. It's got a Logitech G29 wheel/pedals on it, which is OK, as I don't take racing sims that seriously, just as games, at least ATM, as I only use it with a PS4 Pro. I've got a Sony VR helmet as well, but unless you are moving your head around a fair bit whilst driving, it can be a bit nauseating. The good thing is I can always upgrade/modify this model stand to include a dedicated seat and motion platform.....which would help with the VR nausea I would imagine But truth be know, if I were to splurge out the $4k on that, I might as well go the whole hog and get the Traction Plus platform as well, and replace the wheel/pedals to a top tier Fantec setup. And upgrade the seldom used, but still pretty well spec'd gaming PC But that's a fair whack of change for gaming 1
Tweaky Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 I just got a email from Pagnian Advanced Simulation. A new Next Level Racing - Elite Series has just been released, and they are taking pre-orders......price is $1300 https://pagnianimports.com.au/collections/racing-cockpits/products/next-level-racing-f-gt-elite-formula-gt-aluminium-profile-simulator-cockpit-side-and-front-mount-edition?utm_campaign=Elite Pre-order (RkdViH)&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Checkout Started GTtrack 30 Days - Shopify-Klaviyo-FB-Audience&_kx=S0nbw9hzmj44978KdImhZsFdCsKzplFrvKcjddoTBM8kcdwvdcMz9KVwdefqzCVr.X2DThc They look highly and easily adjustable, for both F1 and GT styles of setups, more so than the standard steel versions.......Total weight is 53kg 2
Wyd4 Posted September 2, 2021 Posted September 2, 2021 I am fairly space restricted so mine sadly needs to be packed away between races so I am running Fanatec CSL elite (which has started randomly shutting down on me so may look at the new CSL DD once our newborn twins allow me to race again haha) Clubsport 2.5 pedals Clubsport shifter Playseat challenge 'rig' Have had many fun sessions with this setup and will have plenty more. I would love a more solid rig but 5 of us in a 3 bedroom house dictates some compromise and at least I still get to race. 2

Does the Wheel Stand Pro fold up with all the wheel & pedals attached? We’ve got limited space and would like a stand that is simple to move in and out of the system when not in use, and doesn’t take a lot of storage space. Edited December 26, 2021 by zydeco

Carrera1963 Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) Like a few others here, I’ve got a TrakRacer & Fanatec rig for my PS5 - TR80 with rally seat, monitor mount, shelf & new TR-One DD mount. - Fanatec DD1 PS4, handbrake, F1 & 918 rims, V3 pedals. - Audio via an SMSL AD18 & Cambridge Audio Minx Min21’s, plus Nobsound G2 & 2 Dayton pucks under the seat. Edited February 2, 2022 by Carrera1963 Hmm, pics aren’t uploading properly 1

Over the xmas break I moved the setup in from the garage as it's been unbearably hot. Also Mrs Claus provided a new widescreen - if you have the room and can do it, I'd suggest it's an excellent solution in place of multiple monitors. You can actually start looking left and right into corners and for me it changes the level of engagement considerably! Now I just need to work on the brake pedal setup as it's not anywhere close to a real race car. Then I'm ready to get into full Wanneroo raceway practice sessions. Note - FOV has been properly setup since this photo was taken. 3

I race in a league at Sector 1 so i too am a bit worried how much development has been put into GT7 for the sim racers. Especially size of the lobbies and feedback.

It's ok, but far from the Radical that I've been training in on the track at Wanneroo. It seems that to step up you need to spend quite a bit on hydraulic style pedals. But given the cost of track sessions, it could be worthwhile. 1

Hey I basically have the same except I have HE Pro pedals using the TR inverted pedal mount (works very well and is solid) , a high end PC and a blue Saas Kombat seat , the Trakracer seats are very very uncomfortable , I hated mine , couldn't wait to replace it. I didn't like the TR DD1 mount as there was too much flex and was very heavy , I upgraded to this https://sim-lab.eu/shop/product/podium-bracket-set-443#attr=373,589,2040 and it's very very solid with no flex and looks so much better and much lighter , highly recommended.

I’ve got the new TR-One mount, similar design to SimLabs but even bigger profile. I knew it was coming out so waited about 6 months. 2
blakey72 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Need to ask a question but might not be a good one. Any opinions on which console would be better for racing games with rally being the bigger style I'm looking at. Is that like asking which out of Samsung and Apple is better?

I don't think it really matters TBH, with the exception of Forza/GT7 most games are multi platform.
