It'd end up costing over $20k landed wouldn't it? if so, not that great a bargain is it? What do you reckon you could ask for a pair if you were selling 'em? maybe I'm way off base.

M

I forgot the Aussie dollar was now a non event.

God yeah..I'd hate to see the price rise on them in the new year. the speakers I'm thinking of upgrading to are shooting up in the new year to the point where I may not be able to get 'em.... Faaaaark!

I have been talking to a few people I know who are in the trade and the word is that anyone considering buying anything major should do so right now as most brands will be raising prices on gear between 15-25% early in 2015.

Slightly OT I know, but just a haeds up for any intending buyers around here

I've heard that too...but I'm just going to have to wear it I'm afraid...

Along with all of us I dare say.

One outcome will be to lift the price of 2nd hand gear too I'd imagine.

It has the original owners name engraved upon the front panel which could be a deal breaker for some. For those who still want it I suppose you could always change your name by deed poll.

This looks good for a brand new one

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Emotiva-XSP-1-GEN-2-Pre-Amplifier-Black-prefer-pick-up-Sydney-/251771877388?ssPageName=ADME:SS:SS:AU:3160

Just tried to put in the cart from Emotiva and it comes to over $1400 with the current discounts & eclub membership. Not sure if this will incur Duty and taxes on the way in either.

Did you mean AUD$1400 delivered ? The XSP1 is USD888 on Emo's site, the XMC1 is USD1999

USD888 in AUD https://www.google.com/search?q=usd888+in+aud&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

shipping would run around the USD300 from memory, maybe less as these aren't as heavy as one of their amps

Still a Good/OK price as the EMO warranty (5years?) is transferable

Having also a eclub membership I get it for $799

Looks like they have fixed their Cart today as it shows the Duty Taxes as well. (only on this item it seems). Bongo (Emotiva's buying system now) seems to give about 0.796 as the exchange rate.

It would be a great buy on Ebay if you were considering one as you could save a bit.
