waxman Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) Been spinning this one from last year: Karoshi - Sleepwalker on Australian label 4-4-2. Melodic IDM sparsely populated with gentle vocals and glitchy smackerels. Disc available here. Full length samples also - costs nothing to listen. Edited December 10, 2012 by waxman
waxman Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 This one tonight: Kyrstyn Pixton - Embyrs Vocal based electro-acoustic chill with tinges of melancholy. Track 5 "falling Leaves" a stand out for me - simple in construction but "all these fa-a-a-a-alling leaves" - what a damn catchy hook.
Grimmie Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I had the good fortune to see Funki Porcini play with Amon Tobin and Coldcut at the launch of the Ninja Tunes launch party for Zen Cuts. He was every bit as good as the other two in my view, shame he didn't get more recognition, Headphone Sex was a classic. I will look this up, cheers. Electronic vinyl I'm spinning right now is the 10.100 compilation on Peacefrog records. its stunning. I managed to find it at Dada's in perth last week, it had been on the shelf for 11 years! Hi Piou, Despite that being a real zombie post I remain a huge Ninja fan. A few weeks ago I picked up the Ninja 'XEN Cuts' compilation Limited Edition 6 record set at a market fair, as well as Herbalizers 'Blow Your Headphones' 2-record album. Love it still.
Viognier Posted December 12, 2012 Posted December 12, 2012 for those of you who dig Monolake Ghosts and have an hour for your listening pleasure I'd recommend this; Voices from the Lake feat Donato Dozzy and Neel (digital, CD and Vinyl) http://prologuemusic...-dozzy-and-neel It takes a good 6 minutes on the opening track to give you a feel for what's to come, it kept my attention to the end. A must listen from start to finish in one session ! O.Sydney came around last night and we got to listen to a couple of tracks off this (contrary to O.Sydney's advice to listen to the whole thing from go to whoa, but we had lots to get through) and compared the vinyl to CD. Put simply, if you like this and have a TT then buy the vinyl, the difference is that stark. Whilst we played a good cross section of genres last night there was an excellent mix of electronic music, Nicholas Jaar, Caribou, Oliver Tank, James Blake are a few that come to mind. And we covered vinyl, cds and downloads. 2

I still enjoy the CD version streamed from computer at home but it's such a different presentation. If I get a chance over the weekend I'll try to track the artist down and ask the question. And your speakers did a fab job of the Transistor - Scotch Ralston and 311 rock CD, dig it 1

hired goon Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 L.S.G. - The Unreleased Album -- an unreleased album from L.S.G. (aka Oliver Lieb) from 2002, available for download at Oliver Lieb's soundcloud page here. Has the typical L.S.G. trance sound with a bit of lush house. p.s. I had to google to find an image for the cover, and I will note in passing that the results returned are very much NSFW. Dunno why. --Geoff 1

O.Sydney Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 here's one I've been enjoying for a while that's got a somewhat similar flavour to ehanna93 suggested listening tune but it's definitely more a degustation menu as it's 6 hours long. http://headphonecommute.bandcamp.com/ Headphone Commute is incredibly proud and honored to announce a colossal benefit compilation, with 100% of the proceeds being donated towards two charitable organizations, Doctors Without Borders and The Humane Society, to help all those affected by Hurricane Sandy! … and darkness cameOver 6 hours of music in 87 tracks!$10+ USD It's easy to digest until track 4 when the flavour starts to deepen mmmmm Btw I've been really enjoying the output of the guys from http://reviews.headphonecommute.com/ Grab a flac . . . but it is 2.7GB 3
