Heres something a little unusual - ordered this one ages and as you can see it should be,The Weathermen - Ultimate Poison. First couple of tracks were enough to tell me it wasn’t. Popped it into a computer and CDdb was kind enough to tell me it’s Black Light by Iris. So just wrote the correct title tracks onto the original artwork. The Black Light album is pretty good - sort of light industrial music like Manufacture, later Front242 or some of the various FLA side projects. Ended up getting a correct copy of the Weatherman album.

Intrusionintrusion / reflection [remastered + unreleased mixes] -- A collection of tracks and remixes from The Seduction Of Silence, in the usual vein of washed out dub techno, but there's also some beatless doodling as well. "Name Yer Price" lossless download from Bandcamp if yer quick.

Moritz von Oswald opened Now Or Never Festival! Some killer grooves!

Also went to a talk he gave, hosted by Robin Fox. Robin was on recent news item about MESS relocating to Federation Square.

New arrival , interesting combo of Roth Rothery and Thorsten - has that typical TD sequencer tunes with the added guitars of Steven which sometimes remind me of Dave Gilmour from Pink Floyd. Nicely recorded , doesn’t seem to loud. Fans of ambient and prog perhaps?

2 under the letter A+B - Autocreation  Mettle a bit easier listen than Autechre Confield. B12 compilation is rather good and Biosphere Substrata is always well regarded.

Noice.

Autocreation appeared on this classic compilation back in the day, also featuring Locust,  The Orb,  Material, and Muarizio (and combinations under other names):

That first track No One In The World is a Locust (Mark Van Hoen) release, with a Carpenters sample (or a close to it) and is one of me fave tracks.

Elisabeth Murdoch Hall Melbourne

London-based producer Ryan Lee West, better known as Rival Consoles, is revered for his ability to make synthesisers sound organically human and atmospheric. Following a global tour and a recent sold-out appearance at Dark Mofo, Rival Consoles makes his highly anticipated return to Melbourne with his immersive Landscape from Memory audiovisual show.

Featuring live visuals by digital artist Sky Ainsbury, witness the duo transform the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall into a euphoric and cinematic audiovisual experience. From deep ambient works to his distinct take on techno, and traversing the vast spectrum in between, this performance presents a long-form narrative of ideas, with many heard live for the very first time.

Over the course of a critically acclaimed eighteen-year career, Landscape from Memory marks a new chapter in an ongoing quest for refinement and evolution. Don't miss your chance to witness one of the UK's most influential creators of electronic music in this audio-visual spectacle.
