Ummmm I've also just brought a new 203 Oppo, It upgraded immediately it was powered up becuase it had an ethernet connection connected. About to play first UHD title to see what gives so to speak.  But the first issue I've found already hasn't been discussed here yet. As I already have a running Oppo 105 and I didn't want to have one remote firing up two Oppo's I set the 203's remote to use code 2 in the remote's battery compatment, but the 203 doesn't respond at all to those codes, so I set it to code 3 instead, yes it sort of worked, now I can still fire up two Oppo's sucessfully even if I don't want too. Maybe I'll try changing the 105 to another code and see if that works instead.

Did you also set the remote code in the Oppo setup menu?

Setup menu -> Device Setup -> Remote Control Code

I did follow the "book" Kazz, as it says holding down the enter key for 5 secs does the trick after moving Switch inside remote's cover and I did for code 2 ( didn't work) then code 3 and it did, so I assume I did all that was necessary, but it still operates both Oppo's.  Happy to be told otherwise.

Played Deep Water Horizon, intense film good story telling and it nearly got to the end before a short chatter issue right as the mast began to fall off, it picked itself up and completed OK, but going by the FW update report that film had been "fixed" not so? Played the same scene on the supplied Blu Ray disc version and it goes through OK. Love the extra details one gets too.

Also noted that Slow play Fwd is available in UHD now too but not Slow Play Rev, just thows up a red circle with line through it.

A bit O T but do you get 'the making of Deepwater' with the 4K release. Great movie that I can relate to having spent 30 years on rigs, on land though. A good excuse to go 4K ,  when they get the players sorted.

FYI,all oppo jailbreak has been freeze, only china set able to jailbreak now, including version 1209.

This isn't necessarily true i have EU player and have just had recent JB with latest firmware coming out very soon so if you have a EU player there is still option for JB now.

They say on the website that the JB works on 1229 and they are testing it on the latest firmware too. They do say that this is for EU model only. Also, the JB is $50 more expensive than bd-mod.

What good is BD MOD if they stopped supporting the 203 completely and you are stuck on buggy first 1209?

right, given that bd-mod now works only on the china model, it's useless for the rest of the world unless we can import the China model easily. So far, I haven't found a way to buy the China model in USA.

I need to understand when bro mattbee got his jailbreak. As the website just might not update the latest info on time. Now most of the  taobao resources are update their sale webpage to show only china set able to jailbreak, they ald taken down EU and US set, but still 1-2 small distributor havnt update their sale info. So wait for bro mattbee to give clarification on this.

Here is the quote straight from their site. They are specifically referring to the latest version that released after the change in Oppo's policy. If this really is legit, I will have to figure out a way to buy an EU model and have it shipped to the US

We will send you a link to download the current jailbreak firmware along with your jailbreak file. When new firmware is released we will also list it here.

As some plagiarist doing the fake scam for the customers and they making rumours about the 38 version can't be jailbreak anymore. We are declare: We only do service for our customers. We don't have any responsibility to the people who was cheated by other website. We can do the update for our customers:-)

The new version 38-0222 is under testing, a few bugs will be fixed shortly. We will release it as soon as we can.

33-1229 (Current version)

Right click and save the firmware file to the USB stick with your jailbreak file.

If I understand correctly, when you play a UHD, on 1080 non HDCP2.2 display, it will prompt ' This content can not be displayed because your TV deos not support HDCP2.2.'

Don't think it will be corrected on newer FW. No use on changing the HDMI cable.
