OK - I haven't posted in this thread for a while - I am sorry for being so negligent, I am sure you are all just dying to hear to what I have been listening. Actually I just wanted to see what I looked like in the new format. :-).....

On vinyl last night:

Randy Newman - Live (1970 - one of the best live recordings I have heard, a man, his piano, some foot-stomping for percussion, and a swag of great songs).

The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers.

The Great Unwashed - Clean Out of Our Minds

The Rolling Stones - Let It Bleed

I left them strewn across the floor like my girlfriend does (recent photo):

SWMBO came home and was not impressed by the mess. Today, in order to put the albums away, I am playing another album by the respective artists as I file them back alphabetically. So in addition to the above:

Randy Newman - Sail Away

The Rolling Stones - Black and Blue

The Great Unwashed - Singles

The Rollong Stones - Some Girls

I actually prefer POM to NOTB. "Still Life" is in my top 5 Maiden songs.

For $70 you can now see ZZ Top here in Hamilton. Good value for money for a concert! I saw them in 1987 at Western Springs on their Afterburner tour and was keen to see them again without the need to pay too much for the V8s.

Flight Of Icarus, The Trooper and Still Life are all pretty hard to beat!

I have seen ZZ Top twice the first being at Western Springs in 87' a great concert.

$70 to see them is cheap by today's standards.

On a bit of BD kick at the moment so working my way through some boxsets.

Still need to get 2 more bootleg series boxes to complete the set.

Also had a quick listen the newly arrived Lisa Gerrard reissue-Mirror pool.

Spent much of the afternoon playing music from the big Elektra Records boxset while working my way through the book Becoming Elektra.

Interesting read along with some high quality photos.

Elektra were a great label through the 60s and founder Jac Holzman was a keen audiophile with a real interest in technology and recording technique.

Finished the afternoon with some vinyl

Nick Lowe- The Impossible Bird

Shelby Lynne-Just A little Lovin'.
