Help Seting Up "favorites" On Series 5 Samsung

Featured Replies

i just bought a new 32" Samsung Series 5 (LA32B550) LCD for parents and am having problems setting up "favorites". I've loaded the channels I want into the favorites - and they have the "green heart" next to the channels, but when I scroll thru the channels using the "channel up/down button, I still get all channels. Can anyone help? Is there something I need to do so the TV only scrolls thru the favorite channels and not all channels?

Thanks

On the PIO remote there is infact a single key "FAV" that allows you to go into your favorite channel and then scroll.

Is it not similar with Sammy, is there a FAV button on the remote?, press it first then scroll using the up/down, not the channel "P" up/down.

That works - but seems to be a hassle! I've got a Hitachi at home and once I set favorites, it will only go up and down those channels rather than the whole lot! I thought that would be standard fpr all remotes/TV's?

I'm having a similar problem to that described by the original poster.

I bought a Samsung LA22B450 for my parents, and am having problems with the favorites list being recognized.

Doing the above with the "FAV-CHAN" button brings up the favorites list, from which one can scroll up/down to the favorite channel of your choice. However - I want to keep this simple for my parents. How do I get it to only scroll through the favorite channels using the P-up/down button?

I discovered that I could "delete" channels from the "ALL CHANNELS" list, so that list is identical to the favorites list. This achieves the goal of only scrolling through the favorite channels using the P-up/down button - but makes the "favorites" list superfluous as I'm not really using the favorites, but the modified all channels list.

Also - despite having deleted certain channels, when I bring up the EPG, every single channel is listed in there, including all the duplicates I had deleted. Hitting "fav-chan" button while the EPG is displaying simply takes me back to the favorites list, and so removes the EPG from the list. I have found no way to reduce the number of channels listed in the EPG. Surely this can't be this hard!! Has anyone out there with a current-model Samsung TV found a work-around for this? The instruction manual implies this is possible, but doesn't say how to achieve it.

(I have satellite receivers in the US that let you set up 4 different favorites lists, and display the channels from any one of the 4 lists in the EPG - and even toggle between EPG-displays for the different favorites lists by repeatedly hitting the "guide" button!)

Thanks

Shouldn't work like this.

Once you have a Favourites List setup, only those channels should appear in the EPG.

Every device I have is set to a Favourites list and those channels are the only ones that appear in the EPG.

I agree - it shouldn't be that hard!

Any Samsung owners able to provide some hints or work-arounds?
