Thought I should add to this for people in Sydney.. Went to Myer Bondi Junction Westfields this afternoon and showed them some reciepts from this forum. Managed to Get a TH50PZ800A for $2700.00 With 5 years warranty, delivery and 12 months interest free plus $100.00 in gift vouchers..

Would scan in a reciept but dont think you ll need mine.. Just use whats up at hdtvprices. Anywayz Grats to everyone else getting good deals from these receipts... Dont think these retailers are going to make any money this Xmas out of us lolz..

Just hoping this TV is as good as what ive heard.. I really thought every TV looked crap in the store with their cheap connections split 300 times over. picking it up tomorrow !!

Clive Peeters in Moorabbin (VIC) has the 65" TH-65PZ850A for a $9999 sticker price, which includes the Wii deal and also a bonus 32" Panasonic LCD (didn't specify a model). I didn't try and get the price down, just noted it as a ballpark figure.

I got a price for TH-46PZ800A with 3 years warranty (2 years extra on top of 1 from manufacturer) + free delivery. The price is $2149 from Myer. I used "$500 gift card" deal. So I paid $2000. And I still have $51 left on my last gift card.

So you can say I paid $1949 for this.

I hope I will be able to sell Wii (I have already got one before so I don't need this one) to get the final cost about $1650. And it's a good deal from my point of view.

Thanks. We sit a few metres from the TV, so it suits us much better than our 32" Samsung LCD.

To be honest, I went off of feedback on this forum, and a few reviews that I've read. I was initially considering the Samsung 4 series equivalent.

Also what retailer did you get it from?

I got if from Joyce Mayne on the coast. I could have gotten it for even cheaper considering the salesman didn't even flinch when I said $1550.

I bought a TH50PZ800A from Myer for $2165, no extra warranty. My sister got the 46" for $2000 (different Myer store).

Scored a TH50PZ80A for $2200 from Myer.

For a quote I just plucked a figure of $2200 out of my head and the city store wouldn't come down from $2420.

So then went for a drive to Southland Myer and said that we got a quote from JB for $2200, so he matched it.

We then went over to the ticketek counter and got 4 x $500 gift cards and that entitled us to an extra $200 with the $10, for every $100 spent on gift cards promotion Myer were running, which ends today.

All in all, we ended up only paying $2000 for the tv once the gift card promotion was taken into account and then got them to deliver it on Tuesday for $45.

This forum has provided me with valuable information in my research into flat panel tv's. Im grateful to all those with experience and insight that willingly share their knowledge with others.

Time to give some back......

Today, I stopped procrastinating and bought a 50PZ800A from a Myer store in Sydney. The receipt reads $2315 for the set but I actually only paid $2075 as I used the gift cards and MyerOne loophole. After the deal was done, I bit the bullet and opted for the additional 4 years warranty just for peace of mind.

Total receipt price was $2714 incl +4 years warranty. Actual paid was $2424.

Ive been to more than 20 Sydney stores (HN, BL, GG, Myer, DJ, DSE, JB, Domayne) and it was hard going to say the least as noone wanted to negotiate with the receipts from the wiki as they werent Sydney based. Powerhouse said no way to the $2320 receipt from the Powerhouse Prestons (VIC) that I showed them. The same thing happened at Myer and DJ (with the exception of the Myer that I bought from of course) when I showed them the Myer receipt for $2350. When I asked them about their price match policy, they stated that it only applies when the price being matched is above cost. As for the rest, well, prior to a few days ago, I was chasing the best price on the 50PZ80A and the best I got was $2200 from GG Rockdale. Hence, I knew that the $2075 I paid for the 800 was as good as it gets for now.

Will wait for delivery in the next day or 2 before I post up the receipt.

Went down to Audio House Liang Court last evening to have a look at the Panny TH-42PY800H.

Was quoted $2299 with HT, and $200 NTUC/Taka vouchers with wall mounting and delivery.

How come the prices are getting worse off?

And they do not seem to promote Panny alot.

I would think salespeople will try to sell stuff that will bring in the highest commissions for them. I also went to Audio House in Liang Court a couple of months back, ready to buy the PV8. But the salesman was trying his best to sell me a LG LCD. In the end, I gave up and left without buying anything. :P

 

It was a good thing for me cause a couple of weeks after that, the Panasonic $700 voucher promo came about. ;D

Yep, as per other comments my receipt doesn't say $2165, but that was the amount of cash I wound up paying due to the gift voucher thing. The receipt says $2380.
