I'm using custom made cat-8 network cables with Telegartner RJ45 connectors ordered from Canada. The data travels from the router LAN port through a Pakedge MS-2424 managed switch, then SFP to a Pakedge MS-1212 managed switch, then a long network cable to a HP procurve managed switch, and then to the N1T. I need to think about where to deploy the Waversa in all of that.

You must position it between the HP switch and N1T. That is the optimal position.

My new cart arrived yesterday and is still in its packaging. Every day, I initiate the work, but I end up listening to the music. Today, once again, it repeated. There is simply no motivation once the tunes turn on.

Tomorrow, the three boxes Wavac CLR-x2 Phonostage will arrive. I seriously need to get off this chair and begin working on some productive tasks. I am looking for physical assistance with lifting off these bulky and heavy boxes. I would be happy to pay for your time here. Perhaps $50/hr cash? I would need a couple of hours on this furniture rearranging. Please let me know or refer me to someone; I would be very grateful.

The N1T and Kaleidescape all share the MS-1212. The SFP link back to the MS-2424 was a theoretical decision to block any electrical noise that would otherwise travel down a wired connection. If I change the SFP link to wired I could put the Waversa on the MS-2424 and then link to the MS-1212 so the Kaleidescape would gain the benefit of the LAN isolator. I could SFP from the MS-1212 direct to the N1T and thus bypass the HP Procurve. There are several ways we can skin this cat.

Certainly. However, there exists an optimal approach. The proof lies in the act of listening.

Where would the freight industry be without audiophiles to provide the base load?

It has been quite the journey! Until recently, I couldn't have been more pleased with my decision to invest in a high-quality pair of speakers—something I never imagined I would own, especially given their price tag above the median house in Perth. Making that choice was no walk in the park, especially when it came to financing them.

I vividly remember the day I settled the transaction. After entering the bank, I found myself waiting for nearly two hours, surrounded by a mountain of paperwork and navigating through three levels of management, including the brand manager, all to ensure everything was above board. When I first expressed my intent to make the transaction, they casually reminded me that I could do it online. But when I explained that the amount was too large for that, their reaction was priceless: “A beg your pardon? You want to purchase what? A house?” It took me nearly 15 minutes to convince them I was serious!

If you haven't been through something like this, let me tell you—it was anything but pleasant. It felt like spending my own money required a VIP pass and a lengthy approval process!

Setting aside all the hard work, the delivery of the M7s presented yet another hurdle in what has been a remarkable journey. It’s truly a monumental logistical feat. If it weren't for @brodricj, Dan ( @ELECTRiCPiNEAPPLE) at Addicted to Audio, and his exceptional team, the M7s might not have arrived safe and sound. Dan has not only provided outstanding support but has also been refreshingly fair in all his dealings. Those of you who have interacted with him undoubtedly share my high regard for Dan at A2A Perth.

Now that the M7s are all settled in, they bring an unmistakable joy to my evenings, whether I'm unwinding from a hectic workday or the demands of parenting. This happiness is something money simply can’t buy. In a gesture of my heartfelt gratitude, I visited Addicted to Audio today with the intention of thanking him in person—a small token in the form of a bottle of Laphroaig 25 that has been waiting in my cellar for the last 20 years.

I hope this humble gift conveys the deep appreciation I feel for the entire team at Addicted to Audio and expresses just how delighted I am with my acquisition.

Interestingly - Jay's Audio Lab channel on YouTube - who I think just blows hot wind much of the time, has just bought MSB Cascade. I watched him unbox it and even that gave me the heebie-jeebies. Anyway, he says the MSB Select 2 is the no-brainer best value buy at US$40-45K compared to Cascade at US$94K. Not that he'd listened to Cascade at that point. And his plan was to eventually put the Master Sound Discrete DAC in the Esoteric Grandioso K1XSE up against Cascade. Now that is something I look forward to. I think the Esoteric is outstanding value for money, particularly if it's performance competitive with the likes of an MSB.

The effort that goes into building an Esoteric is fanatical. How they make them is featured on a YouTube video that was posted recently. It's worth watching.

That guy is not trustworthy. He is a dealer, and you can check him out in Agon. Next month will be the best thing he has ever heard.

You might have tested the $10/week financing option 🤑

I feel that Brodric should go to Specsavers; his vision is impaired, missing a few zeros after that $10.

$10/week is too good to refuse...I'm all in for M7

I wonder on the local interest of M2, whether they are closing many customer inquiries with sales. M2 is good for apartments and small listening rooms (designed for the Hong Kong market?), but I imagine many prospective owners here who can drop $140K on a new pair of speakers would have larger listening spaces. Which raises an interesting point. It's a big jump from M2 to M6 with M3 not in the product lineup any more. M3 is the perfect size for me. I'm very surprised they didn't replace it with a Mk2 model.

I have all these nice things sitting here, but they’re just for show. @mtf - can't wait til you back in Perth. 😁

Indeed!

I have been contacted by the new https://www.westminsterlab.com distributor to test their electronics with M7s. I am apprehensive that I may become overly enamoured with them.

That is because once you put money in the bank it is theirs and they don't like you trying to take it back. 🙂

Congrats on your recent purchases, enjoy in good health.

It was another fantastic day here with a group of local friends, sharing the passions and enjoyment of my setup Magico M7s.

We played tt, my server and Esoteric N1T from @brodricj. Once the Esoteric was turned on, it became almost impossible for the long-term DIY servers to compete. My heart is broken… badly broken and sad. The clarity of the N1T completely overshadowed the server. Unfortunately, when the group was here, the Esoteric wasn't set up properly, so they didn’t hear its true potential. I wasn’t in the sweet spot since I was trying to give my friends the best experience. Brodric and I only realised the difference at the end of the day when I finally got to sit in the sweet spot. Oh well, another get-together then.

I will allow those who attended today to provide their candid feedback.

Many thanks to @brodricj, @TP1, @Steve M, @teagle, @Grimmie, and @rockeater for your time and for a great afternoon. Great seeing you all in good health today.

I have been to several high end audio shows and listened to my fair share of equipment at audiophiles homes over the years and with those experiences behind me, I sat down today to listen to Chanh's Magico M7's.   From the very first moment I could only describe the sound as majestic and on such  a scale that I haven't heard before. The usual way we describe speakers seems inadequate for the M7's .  We  have all heard speakers described as "disappearing" into the soundstage but the M7's  are on a whole other level.  Sound was clearly articulated from across the room, from the front to back and top to bottom in a manner that leaves you in amazement.  We also talk off bass definition but that wouldn't do the M7's justice either because they articulate  bass sounds you simply wouldn't hear on lesser speakers and  place each sound in its  rightful place all over the room.  Not to mention they don't seem to have any limitation on how low or loud they can go.

While I was absorbing all this,  I discovered that source of the sound was the streaming service Qobuz  through the  Grandioso N1T - which just left me wondering how much potential there is still left in this incredible system.   Congratulations Chanh, an awesome acquisition and I cant wait  to see how the system progresses.

We played table tennis,

I missed that!.

I play TT 3 times a week and had I known, I would have brought my bat and shoes.

Maybe next time.

The system is not too shabby either 😉
