Well picked out but it may be the iphone.

Iphones are Optimization for Voice:

iPhone microphones are designed to prioritize frequencies relevant to human speech, typically from around 100Hz to 10kHz according to SYNCO

Yeah for sure, it might be the phone emphasising a frequency range and/or just general inaccuracy. So some measurements with the best possible microphone is obviously a good way to go.

I am delighted that you appreciated the humor, Leon. I hope that on my next visit to the Penfold spiritual house, I can also stop by your residence for a listening session. 😊

Today, the Siltect double crowns return to the shop for their next adventure. The next person in line will find themselves in financial trouble.

Thank you Addicted to Audio for the loan!

Chanh, you setup your system the way you love it and it’s definitely a privilege to listen to it! I guess people want to listen to songs they are familiar with at home, that gives them a good perspective of the flavour of your setup . You are a resolution and big sound stage hunter, other people might look for a different flavour, that is ok, just as long as we keep the conversation polite, being different is not bad. We all have to remember that our tastes are just ours, not the absolute truth. I am interested in listening to that playlist, I am always looking for new songs to enjoy. Me personally, I like to have a system that is more forgiving because I don’t want to only listen to audiophile recordings, I want to enjoy the music that I like, and some of it is not the best recording.

I’ve taken some time to respond because I wanted to ensure I addressed this carefully. I’m concerned that my previous posts may have been misunderstood, and I want to clarify that you were in no way the target of my frustrations.

I genuinely look forward to having you back. You have such a keen ear, and our shared appreciation for Accuphase gear makes for wonderful discussions. The tracks you played here were great—though a few felt a bit too compressed for my liking—but I truly believe they sounded significantly better than in your setup at home, which I've had the chance to experience as well.

I would also like to emphasise the importance of being considerate when visiting someone else's audio setup. During my visit to yours, I made an effort to respect your preferences, and I always aim to highlight the positive aspects of any system I encounter. I tend to ask questions rather than provide direct criticism, as I recognize that not every setup is tailored to individual tastes. Therefore, I encourage you and others to approach comparisons between our setups with an open mind. Each system has unique characteristics influenced by factors such as room acoustics and the specifics of cabling. e.g.. interconnections.

If the goal is to gain a better perspective on your own setup, I recommend listening to more ideal recordings. This allows us to appreciate how capable a system can be in revealing the nuances of a recording. It’s similar to using a high-performance vehicle; one wouldn’t fuel a sports car with low-quality gas and then compare its performance to everyday vehicles in a school zone!

I hope this message is received in the spirit of camaraderie and understanding. Let's continue to share our passion for audio and explore this journey together.

Feel free to shoot it down! 😊

I agree,  unfortunately some music offered via certain audio platforms can go from WOW, what a great recording to, oh... that's not the best

But obviously with your highly revealing speakers that will ultimately lead to even greater issues with the compression being emphasised even further than say mine or other less resolving systems

Regards

Well they are settling in well Chanh ,  a few tweaks here and there ,  addictive as ,  just want to keep listening , it’s opening up new horizons as found myself venturing into new mellower music genres that normally bored.

Bloody Magic , sooo very happy 😊

Incidentally, I captured the photograph at the wiring before their departure in case the new owner requires it.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to them with the Private Investigation from Dire Straits, Tin Pan Alley from Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Here’s to Life from Shirley Horn.

At this juncture, you are fortunate to have access to these exclusive pair, which is the sole available options in Australia. They exhibit a striking resemblance to my current M7s.  🥳😁

Looking awesome, whats the idea with the camera between the two sections there 🤔

Do you like to film yourself while you listen? Is it for surveillance of the area? Or perhaps you like a front and back shot of the dog?

I had an incredible experience today with a friend as we explored different sets of speaker cables. We consistently found ourselves drawn back to Siltech, as they provide an unmatched balance in sound. During our testing, I decided to challenge my friend with a speaker polarity issue. I set up the cables and stepped out to give him space. Moments later, he rushed out, a look of concern on his face, declaring, “Something sounds off!” I couldn’t help but smile at his instinct. I was genuinely impressed; he identified the polarity issue immediately. A true audiophile! 😊 Naturally, I kept inviting him back in every time I adjusted the setup, inspired by his keen ear and passion.

Great pickup mate, @mtf

It was such a great afternoon spent listening to your new acquisitions Chanh, thanks again.

I really enjoyed the experience of  comparing those amazing cables too.

As incredible as they all were, each of them definitely held their own and delivered their own wonderfully inherent flavour and positive attributes,  but as I quoted earlier in our conversation, the Siltech were like a version of Cinderella’s glass slipper for your system as it were, a perfect fit😀

Cheers very much for the wine too, mate,  I was fully expecting to be concentrating and working on your turntable and hooking up a phono stage but ended up listening to music, enjoying great conversation and drinking wonderful Vino instead ,happy days!👍🍷

Certainly did! 😊

Great! The big heavy thing stays in its box until I can get my speaker cables back. See you on Sunday.

@brodricj, You should consider trialing the Siltech double crowns speaker cables in your system.

We are exceptionally fortunate to have the opportunity to shoot with various cables in a highly resolving and exceptionally revealing setup. Without this opportunity, we would be content with any of the above speakers cables. They are all very pricey and extremely musical.

I've recently been in touch with fellow M7s owners outside Australia. They’re all pairing their M7s with cutting-edge electronics, which is putting considerable pressure on me to upgrade and revamp my already substantial front-end setup!

From time to time, I find myself revisiting these thoughts, seeking solace after moments of doubt. Every time, I emerge with the same realisation: there’s nothing inherently flawed about my current configuration, and I genuinely relish every moment spent listening.

Yet, lingering questions remain. Will investing in higher-end electronics truly elevate my listening experience to unprecedented levels? Where does the law of diminishing returns come into play? What if, after splurging a significant amount, I discover my enjoyment has diminished instead?

It’s a whirlwind of confusion as I navigate this journey up the audio hierarchy!

A thought for you to ponder Chanh- "if you go looking, just remember you cannot "unhear" things".

Such a deeeep rabbit hole 🕳️ 😎

See you Sunday, really looking forward to hearing this latest ensemble.🎶🎶👏

Something for you and everyone to consider:

Our brains evolved with a negativity bias — a survival mechanism that’s always scanning for the next challenge or threat, often leaving us mired in perpetual dissatisfaction. Research in behavioral science shows this neurological treadmill consistently returns us to our baseline happiness regardless of external achievements.

I’d say you are virtually at the top end of amplification already ,  pretty much else may dive you into significant diminishing returns territory.
It’s probably more the upgrade bug that messes with your conscious and sure is undeniably addictive.

But ask yourself , what’s really missing ,  what’s would be the absolute solution , is there one ,  acknowledge you’re in bliss territory already 🧐

On the other hand one option may be , should you wish for different flavour or speed and attack improvements , could a different technology like David Burnings OTLs be favourable or maybe something along the lines of  the ARC REF 650 chunkers perhaps be an alternative avenue to investigate. But unlikely cause this and that ….

To me and like SteveM always says , top amps are within 5% ish of each other where as that overlooked Pre Amps yield more like 25% of improvements.
So much more gains to be had out of a Magic Pre Amp in other words.

Food for thought anyway.

Btw those music genres you mentioned enjoying on the LM3 ironically are exactly what’s been taking me away and playing for the last 3 days 🤙

Higher end electronics to what you currently own are just different flavors of good. The most critical component has been dealt with in M7. That was supposed to end the tale chasing. So how about just pause the tail chasing for now and put aside any thoughts of electronics upgrades.

A gentleman in his seventies, who resides in Kuala Lumpur, recently contacted me via Facebook after viewing my YouTube upload. He extended an invitation for me to visit and collaborate. I believe I will certainly accept his invitation.

Surprisingly, this is what he currently possesses!
