JukKluk2 Posted February 28, 2017 Share Posted February 28, 2017 Many years ago, on the first occasion that I left Oz for a significant period of time, I was living in Oxford and to enable me to listen to music I purchased a basic "hifi" from the local Tandy shop. It wasn't much really, a turntable, an integrated amp and a pair of speaker, all badged as Realistic. Thing is, the turntable was one of these, or at least an OEM version which was visually indistinguishable from the Elac badged device. I knew this at the time too because a mate of mine at home had the Elac, along with a Marantz amp (which had treble, bass and mid-range tone controls, something I had never seen before and have never seen since) and a pair of those early B&W speakers that combined an electrostatic tweeter/mid sitting in top of the bass section.
