Further information: Hey all - I tried listing this a few months ago, thought I'd try again, as this cartridge now actually needs to go! I've got a 2m Black Cartridge and stylus for sale, I've had it just over a year. I'd say it's had 50 hours or so of play at most. The reason I'm moving it on is that try as I might to live with the cartridge, I honestly feel like I'm walking on eggshells a bit when I use it, because I'm so scared to break it! Couple that with moving in with my partner who has two very curious cats, the likelihood of that happening is a bit higher now. It's a spectacularly detailed cartridge, and goes incredibly well with my Pro-Ject Phono Box DS2 (I'll be listing this separately) and I'd rather get the turntable set up with something that'll provide quality sound that I can afford to replace a stylus on if something happens (god forbid!). The photos below will show it mounted on the turntable that it's currently on, and was installed on when it was first opened, my eucalyptus Pro-Ject Classic. The cart is fully functional with absolutely no playback issues. Further information: Ortofon 2M Black brand new in sealed box. Acquired 2 weeks ago from Australian bricks and mortar store. Was part of a deal with a turntable, I already own a 2M Black. RRP $1060 Considered to be one of the best MM carts available, and betters many more expensive MC carts without the fuss with its 5 mv output. Also protects your valuable investment in vinyl, running a Shibata stylus at a recommended 1.5 grams. I auditioned the 2M Red, Blue and Black at a HiFi store on the same system. The jump in extra detail from the Black left me in no doubt that I would be wasting both time and money on equipment further up the line, if I didn't have the 2M Black in the system. YOLO. Doesnt affect the cart sound in anyway. New ones can be bought on ebay for very little ie $15. Reason for selling: I am reducing my large collection of carts as they simply dont get used. Hi all, I just got the stylus and have installed it on the turntable, is an upgrade for the 2M bronze so the setup was pretty straightforward, removed the bronze and put the black. I have also set the tracking to the recommended 1.5, I have read on the forums that the stylus needs to break or something like that can I please get some advise from the experts if is there anything else that I need to do? I'm listening to Everything But The Girl - Language of life and the first difference is that the bass is stronger than on the bronze, my gear is Pro-ject RPM 4.1 with akai am 2400 and Wharfedale speakers.
