Distribution of AudioQuest Moves to Sound United Australia

After many years, AudioQuest has announced it will part ways with its Australian distributor Amber Technology, effective August 2nd 2021.

Sound United (Australia) has been appointed as the sole Australian distributor, reflecting shared distribution arrangements between the two companies that already exist in many markets worldwide.

It is understood as many as five Australian distributors had been in negotiations with AudioQuest for up to a year, with the final decision resting with the brand's founder and chief designer, William E. Low. One of the unsuccessful distribution candidates was so confident it had even booked space for AudioQuest at the upcoming 2022 StereoNET Hi-Fi Show to be held February 18-20 in Albert Park, Melbourne.

According to Robert Wong, Business Development (APAC) for AudioQuest:

AudioQuest and Amber Technology have enjoyed a long relationship. Each party is grateful for the support provided by the other and extends best wishes for the future. The transition will allow AudioQuest to take advantage of synergies with Sound United's electronics and loudspeaker brands.

In an exclusive StereoNET interview with Bill Low in 2019, Bill revealed that he has no intentions of slowing down or retiring even after celebrating over forty years of AudioQuest.

In early 2020, AudioQuest's parent company Quest Group acquired loudspeaker brand GoldenEar Technology. It has not been stated if Sound United will also distribute GoldenEar as part of the new Australian arrangement.
