Samsung has given its Art Store a sizeable culture hit, confirming that 34 fresh works from the Louvre are now available through the service for the first time. The update lifts the museum’s presence on Samsung Art Store to 51 pieces, placing one of the world’s most famous collections a remote control away for owners of compatible Samsung Art TVs.
The headline draw is Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, but Samsung is not leaning on one smile alone. The expanded selection also includes Eugène Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People, Paolo Veronese’s The Wedding Feast at Cana and Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’ La Grande Odalisque, alongside works from Caravaggio, Jacques-Louis David, Dominique Papety and Nicolas Poussin.
The new additions span the Renaissance, Neoclassical and Romantic periods, giving subscribers a broader sweep of European art history without the airport queue or gallery crowds. It is also another sign of Samsung’s push to make its Art TVs feel less like idle screens and more like always-on digital canvases.
“The Louvre represents the very best of French artistic and cultural heritage,” said Guillaume Rault, Vice President of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics France. “We are proud to bring these masterpieces beyond museum walls and into the homes of millions around the world through our Samsung Art TVs.”
For Samsung, the Louvre partnership adds further weight to an Art Store catalogue that now stretches beyond 5,000 works from museums, galleries and artists worldwide. For viewers, it means the living room can move from a black rectangle to an enviable gallery wall in a few clicks.
