Beyerdynamic has unveiled the DT 275 PRO, a compact monitoring headphone aimed squarely at professionals who need to make fast, confident audio calls away from the calm of the studio.

Designed for location shoots, field recording, mobile editing, live sound and DJ booths, the new on-ear model is pitched as a rugged, travel-friendly tool for keeping speech, levels and cue points under control in loud real-world environments - but the cans’ skills could easily transfer to the commute or helping block out your colleagues.

At 195g, the closed-back DT 275 PRO combines a lightweight form factor with a flexible headband and rotatable earcups. Beyerdynamic says the design is intended for long sessions, quick handling and reliable monitoring when ambient noise is working against you.
The German-engineered headphone also uses a 45-ohm nominal impedance, making it suitable for a wide range of playback devices, from pro audio kit to mobile production setups.

Martin Stahl, Director of PRO Audio Products, told StereoNET:
The most common and costly mistakes happen when critical audio decisions have to be made in loud environments. When monitoring issues are only discovered after the moment has passed, there is rarely a second chance. The DT 275 PRO was designed to give creators and audio professionals the confidence to make critical monitoring decisions wherever their work takes them.
Beyerdynamic claims up to 22 dBA of passive noise attenuation from the DT 275 PRO’s closed-back on-ear construction and soft leatherette-style earpads, creating an acoustic seal intended to keep the outside world in check without active noise cancelling.

The brand is also promising deliberately neutral tuning across a claimed 5 Hz to 24,000 Hz frequency response, giving users a more honest view of speech, signals and levels rather than a hyped listening experience.
A bayonet-style locking cable connection is one of the headline practical touches. The cable can be fitted to either the left or right earcup, helping users route it around camera rigs, audio bags, live desks and DJ setups without fuss.

To keep the cans working for the long haul, the cable, earpads and headband padding are user-replaceable.

The DT 275 PRO is available now priced at US$150 | €119, supplied with a 1.5m special locking cable with coiled and straight sections, a 6.35mm adapter, and a drawstring carry bag.
