  • New addition......Javelin Audio Custom centre Speaker...

An amazing set up. Blockbuster movies must be a truly immersive experience. And video / concert DVDs.

How did you go with finding a centre from Edward that integrates well with the Duntechs? Looking at the one Edward put together for you with the ribbon tweeter, I would have thought the voicing might have been a bit on the edgy or bright side.

Thanks for your thoughts on the Oppo vs Pioneer. Very interesting observations regarding picture quality. Your photo shots off the projector look awesome, so if they were BEFORE the Pioneer, that's really saying something.

I specifically ask Edward for a centre speaker that had an emphasis on  being a little "bright". The ribbon tweeter he used makes dialogue  very very clear and the rest of the driver configuration makes the centre very full and powerful...its a very effective package. I had previously auditioned several very expensive centres that just sounded "lacklustre" and "flat".

I am currently  using the scaling capabilities of the LX88 to output Bluray @ 4K24p   to the JVC....  This surprisingly is very, very good!.  :)

Hey Woofer, is the Pioneer region free? I asked this a while back but got no response...

Sorry missed your question.   yes, region free.. :thumb:

Nice completion on that space. Have you thought about taking it to the next level by putting all your content on a server, rather than spinning a disc?

Have you got a link for those little stands you have under that BR player? @@wooferocau

Yikes, bit over my budget.

Well my journey has come full circle..  :)  I started with "Solid state"... (mostly  Krell components)  and then went "Tubes" ... (Manley Labs) .....i have now gone back to 100% solid state..

I have really enjoyed my Manley Labs components  , and thought i would never part with them. Over the past few months i havnt been 100% happy with the sound from ny system, the "tubes" have a rich and involving sound, but i started craving a little more detail and dynamics.

When i converted my room to its "Dual Purpose" configuration i cranked up one of my "old" Krell amps...and old KSA250.

The KSA250 is a classic and still today has enormous drive and power, not to mention very good dynamics and detail. When i put this into my system on the music side ( normally i only used it for HT)  i discovered that i actually liked the sound better than my Manley Neo Classics.

This is what started me down the "Esoteric" road.!

After trying first the CD/SACD player then the Preamp and Phono stage . i decided to go for one of their "Stereo" amps.

I was a little concerned that it may not equal or better my old Krell......but better the Krell it most certainly did!!!

The Esoteric amp is extremely well built ( as are all their products) it is a 2 person effort to lift.

The Esoteric has all the power and dynamics of the Krell but with an incredible "organic" quality , not to mention the awesome  detail  .., this combined with the Duntech,s is a match made in heaven.

I have finally reached the point where i have little interest in trying any other "New Gear" ..... i can finally stop listening to components of the system , and start to listen to the "Music" again!!! :thumb:

Big THANKS to Cameron @@Krispy Audio for making the Esoteric products available...

Looking at the room design and the neatness of the setup all through, speaks volumes of the kind of sound that you would like as well. Great job!

Gorgeous.... Those Duntechs deserve the very best. I will simply have to visit one day...

Thought i would do a little "colour coordinating " ...my old rack and amp stand had to go , so i decided on the Solidtech "Solo" rack for my main components and the matching Solidtech amp stand... :)

Some updates..

I have once again been enjoying the HT side again...so a few upgrades were in order.

I was running a 16:9 screen , so i decided to change to a 143" Scope screen....much, much better!

As my room was initially based around Audio only, implementing HT was difficult because of the colour scheme i had chosen. Not wanting to do the total "Blackout/Batcave" thing i decided to blackout the front wall and 10ft out on the side walls. The section along the front bottom was also done. I used high quality Black Velvet . The Velvet is attached via Velcro that i sewed to the velvet and the corresponding velcro is stuck to the wall surfaces using a removable adhesive.

The sides of the Duntech,s are now covered by removable Velvet covers.

I also added 2 SVS PB2000 Subs to replace my ageing B&W sub,s.

The improvements combined with the new Scope screen produce an amazing picture from the JVC X7000...
