tubularbells Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 A true one of a kind and will be sorely missed. 3
Mr 57 Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Not too many guys here that didn’t grow up with Hey Hey and the team. John was a stand out member, that was as funny as…brilliant spontaneous humour. R.I.P. JB 5
ray4410 Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 full respect to Daryl for being the Ringmaster on Hey Hey but without John then there would not have been Hey Hey. 6
April Snow Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Truly loved Hey Hey and Dickie Knee was a highlight .................John was a legend. They really do not make great Aussie family TV like they did then sadly. 7
Jakeyb77_Redux Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 RIP JB, Mum worked at a restaurant with his wife in the 70’s. I got to see him and Wilbur a lot at the Jack Newton Pro Am in Noosa as a kid as we would put our names forward to caddy for the celebs. In the morning they would do a longest drive competition on the first tee. I remember JB just about to swing and Wilbur yelling out “Watch out everyone, Uncle John’s has a few for breakfast!” The whole crowd cracked up including JB. Thanks for the laughs 1 1
Hi-Fi Whipped Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 What a star, my teens wouldn’t have been the same without him, his humour is what made Hey Hey cool to watch before heading out to the Pub with mates on a Saturday night. 1
