I don't personally check in with YouTube (and similar platforms), and I certainly don't go looking for content. 
Most of what I see is linked or shared on other socials (or here). 

 

This is an aggregator, if you will, allowing members to share interesting videos related to the topics of our community.

 

Let's give it a go, and by all means I'm open to updating, adding, or deleting the quick set of categories I have come up with.

 

It will be linked up in various places of the site soon, but for now you can go to https://www.stereonet.com/forums/videos

Any feedback - good, bad, or indifferent?

Thumbs up from me. Is there a voting system perhaps? That way it would make it easier to curate and keep the videos that seem most relevant to members.

No one else seems to be uploading any. 

Given you can post videos within topics and posts I am thinking this feature might be a little redundant?

It would have more visibility if it were listed with the other forums on this page - https://www.stereonet.com/forums/

I would suggest some more categories so that members would be prompted to upload videos that were relevant to the site, eg. create an audio hardware category, records and CD finds category, etc. 

One concern would be copyright - would StereoNet be liable if people upload non-copyright videos?

I also note there is no facility yet to report videos, would be good to add in case someone uploads inappropriate stuff.  I note one video that's not in the right category, with no ability to report it to a volunteer to move it to a more appropriate one.

I come across videos about important but often unknown musicians from time to time but would have limited interest 

Not sure where I would post them because it would make no sense to start a special thread

For example a 20 minute doco on Mississippi John Hurt I watched the other night

Yes absolutely. I'm open to category changes or suggestions. Very easy to add/edit/remove.

I'd look through a single listing but not 12 of them. Is there a "list the lot of them in one list" functionality, please?
