pretty disappointed that onkyo didn't implement the AKM AK4497 Dac's...

(they stopped short n using only the AK4490.....)

that would be the icing on the cake, for the long wait for the top model.

sad.....

Now also comes the issue of when it will be released here in sg...

Gotta get in touch with Alpha Audio...

I wonder how much it's gonna be too...

I would like to get the rz3100...

Then my rz900 can be relegated to my bedroom setup, if I can't sell it...

Aiyoh... I am disappointed too.

Onkyo flagship is also using AccuEQ, bye bye to Audyssey (XT32).

Hiaz  :-\

I wonder, who will be a winner (vote) here in Spore between AccuEQ vs Audyssey-XT32 ?

Might not be that bad - if the AccuEQ has improved to really EQ-ing all channels & subs.

Not necessary Audyseey XT32 is the best HT EQ-ing around.

Did it mentioned class D amp for all channels ?  Didn't seem to read it.

from the webpage...see the pic, u can tell its class D.

since onkyo has bought over pioneer, they now doing class d like pioneer..

but sadly, pioneer will suffer as a 2nd fiddle to onkyo now.

pioneer flagship can never better onkyo flagship..(due to onkyo buying it over)

it makes no sense for onkyo to do this, but it can be seen blatantly..

Now have to see how much Onkyo new AVRs cost - hopefully not as much as X7200WA.

RZ3100 is 11 channels

RZ1100 is 9 channels

X7200WA is also 9 channels

NOTE: will there be a RZ5100 ??

to prove the point on onkyo making sure that pioneer will play 2nd fiddle...

look at the 2 DAP's (digital audio players) recently launched by onkyo n pioneer..

the onkyo model has all the bells n whistles... but look at the pioneer, n u will see its a watered down version...

really can't understand y they doing this...

sad day's for pioneer fanboys....

yes, there is a pr-rz5100..

its a XLR based processor... 11.2 pre out channels too...

no internal amps built in...

all the bells n whistles without any power...

u add on the power amps to run it.

I agreed that audio EQ'ing (regardless of the make and version - be it Audyssey, AccuEQ, YPAO or MCACC) incorporated inside the AVR is NOT a panacea to all "audio/room ailments" in a typical home setting but it is by no means a "gimmick" imo, especially if we learn the correct steps prior to any kind of EQ calibration. For starters, no amount of EQ/calibration can improve an ill-positioned speakers or subwoofer(s). Right from the start, one should make an effort to ensure optimal placement of the speakers and subwoofers. Only then, EQ/calibration can work to its fullest potential.

During all my Audyssey Calibration workshops, I have emphasized time and again to members that Audyssey calibration does not and should never be the very FIRST STEP in your calibrating your HT setup. The MOST important step is to get your speaker positioning and subwoofer(s) placement right first (as best as you could whilst contending with other external elements like space constraints, furnishings & fixtures, walls and WAF) before you even start reaching for the Audyssey mic and rush into things. This is WHY many failed to get good results in calibration regardless whether you use Audyssey, AccuEQ, YPAO or MCACC.

thks Des, me jus being old skool...

i jus let whatever eq'ing system run...

then i jus do my own old skool, DB level management..

then reposition whatever i feel needs repositioning...

then repeat steps again..

no particular order or fashion i follow..

jus do until i feel thats wat my ears wanna feel.

i tend to do many rounds of manual DB level checks though.... ;D ;D ;D
