We all should take note. When you practice a hobby which requires reasonable hearing our ears should be cared for. And with common every day amps producing in excess of 300W and speakers capable of handling high power, not hard to do damage. Of course with age we lose our high frequency sensitivity. As long  as you can hear upto 7KhZ you can hear 90% of a full orchestra frequency range.

I used to check my hearing against CRT screens which always had a fairly quiet 15kHz noise. By the time we went to flat screen I could still hear the noise, but my most recent test shows I've dropped below that (compared to lower octaves). In fact, the industrial people (cannot remember their name) test me every couple of years due to about 15 years working in machine rooms (mainframe computers), which were always fairly loud.

I am in Seoul right now and decided to give a quick visit to the second hand audio shops. There are so many goodies and couldn't take Pall the photos but here's few pictures of them I took this morning.

Hmmm. I have just changed my mind about my next overseas trip. We just had a friend over who loved her recent trip to South Korea. I have also read some good stories about cycling there. Time to do some serious research. Thanks for the inspiration. 

 

Was talking to Harry over Christmas, assures me that he, and SGR are still very much alive. Got chatting to him about the Brinkmann TT's which he has set up with MSB gear and the SGR MT3.2's - same as mine but a stunning Lamborghini yellow. Man, I wish I could afford that system.

 

Not quite so extreme and only part home grown but top gear to me:-
