Recently bought an original Creek Destiny, lifting the lid showed a couple of bulging capacitors, had all capacitors replaced and some previous work tidied up, sounding very nice but should improve with a few hour of use. Have had many amps since my last Creek Destiny but never gave up on the idea of getting another one. TT is an old Rega Planar 2 modified, tangospinner subplatter with ceramic bearing, Moth OEM202 arm with Michell Engineering underslung counterweight, slate subplinth with silicone seperation, Ecstacy prop sprung feet, Ortofon Quintet Blue MC cartridge, Project phono tube box with seperate power supply, Creek Destiny CD player, Monitor Audio RS6 speakers, and Opera 1A speakers for more intimate listening. Analysis Plus and Supra cables. Struggling for words to describe the sound, but, bass goes deep, mid range smooth and relaxed, top end open and airy, even at low volumes satisfying to listen to, cranked up, it rocks.

Congrats, they are beautiful amps. I had a destiny 2 with some Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor M.

Sounded fantastic. Always regretted selling the Destiny.

Makes me wonder what the new creek 100 A sounds like.

@Ray H  the stereophile review of the 100A sounds positive, abliet with the optional Ruby Dac ($599USD), not sure where that puts in in AU$

class G output stage ?

Sanken STDO3 Darlington power transistors, I'm sure Richard Mcdonald of Quisomodo fame uses Darlingtons  in his latest creation?

You can get one for less than $2500. But yeah class G, very different than the original Destiny design.

Upgraded the Rega Planar 2 with a 24v motor upgrade, changed the slate base for a full plinth sized slate tile 10mm thick and a 5mm silicone absorption layer. Sounstage seems to have more depth/openess is the most noticable difference

Other changes, project tube phono gone, now a MoFi Studio phono, greater bass and treble extension, using 80ohm setting and 60db gain with the quintet blue MC, put your test track on and end up listening to the whole album. Moth arm replaced with a Michell Engeneering/Rega RB250 arm using the same underslung counterweight and rewired with Cardas wire, also an Expresso VTA adjuster fitted.

The Ecsty Prop springs under the turntable have been replaced with squash balls.

No other tweaks in mind at present, very happy with the sound at the moment.

Complete change of direction, have stored my main system.

Now using a Sansui FR-1080 turntable with Garrott P77 cartridge, Sansui 331 reciever, Marantz CD52MkII SE CD player, DCM Macrophone speakers.

The synergy off the system = listenability +++++. Does not have the depth, resolution and refinment of my main system but very enjoyable to listen to. The tone controls on the 331 "make" late night low volume listening. An economical distraction in these times, will end up in the study eventually.

New, Grado opus 3 timber series,

Old, Mission Cambridge 778, sounding just right😊17523041482483627173856989281773.thumb.jpg.a13ba3ec33ee8ff81a045b27d41788e8.jpg17523041747422121949641916450617.thumb.jpg.205ada3d2ea03040f930bc096fbc1e10.jpg17523042250074604724012216268132.thumb.jpg.77567a375b508b5c3482744c14d421cb.jpg

Mission Cambridge 778 died in L channel, the McChanson has moved on, was chasing the elusive Exposure 2010s , put in a bid for a Copeland CSA14 with no luck, but patience, and out of the blue,

Copeland CSA8, mint, enjoying the change. This amp feels way more powerful than its claimed 60wpc, the grip on the music is amazing. Hard to tell about the improvements, the arm has been serviced , the cartridge is new after a mishap with the first one, but even with CD the soundstage is deeper and wider, space between instruments, clear definition of instruments on each channel and positions in between, treble has an air to it, bass is tight, very happy, at the moment 🙂17567279454037611444499671130004.thumb.jpg.50956546221e20464ff2d0d9501b1ff2.jpg

Tried to sell my Audio Technica OC9XSH, fortunately no takers, tried it back on the serviced Grace G840 arm, what a difference, like a different cartridge, the top end which was shrill is now clear and precise, airy and shimmering, the mids neutral and the bass tight with the depth on tracks I know with slam how I remember them, thanks Mark @SonicArt,the opus 3 resting  while i put more hours on the AT and run it in.

These are a terrific cart.

I'd gladly have one if I didn't have my current AT.
