That's James Coburn in Cross Of Iron. Speaking of great war movies, this has got to be one of the best if not the best I've seen. Very disturbing in parts but very highly recommended.

I meant a link of the film itself. I have trawled the net in vain.

Not strictly legal, however if you do torrnts, or know someone who can help you may be able to find a download.

A clue: an earliest W Defoe movie I have seen.

Cops and robbers flick from the 80s.

And another 2 frames

Another clue:

And also the film is nowhere near as good as the frames suggest, but hey it was the "80's baby!". And some pundits on the web do consider it a classic of the genre (myself not so much). It is a fun watch and a beast of its time, and as far as I can tell Willems first big-ish role.

Ahh yes now I know. To Live And Die In L.A. , and you're right, it's not that good. Good enough however for a band to borrow from the title. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you To Live And Shave In L.A  :D

Spot on Martin!

1985 To Live and Die in LA by W Friedkin.

Just a year before Daffoe's true breakout role in Platoon where his talent was used to full effect for the first time.

Russian

i think I saw that decades ago

You're half way there, keyse1. Academy award winner and directed by one of Japan's finest. Another one I first saw on SBS. I hope their new FTA channel is as good as SBS used to be.
