I forgot how good the 10,000 Hz Legend was. Also forgot how good Beck was on the opening track.

I have only listened to the digital rip/cd 15 years ago and remember it gets quite a lot of plays and I quite like this album but I felt fatigue after listening to it quite a lot.

The new vinyl reissue sounds wonderfully hi-res with much needed warmth, gives the music on this album a "more analogue feel" and so much more depth. I am loving the album all over again! Thank you @ for reminding me.

Premiere Symptomes has always been well loved, it too sounds excellent! The cover comes with beautiful die-cut holes.

Olafur Arnalds & Janus Rasmussen. Minimal techno meets modern classical. Live strings and drums and synths. More goodness from the Erased Tapes label.

1. Scuba - Claustrophobia

I really enjoy this album. Scuba hits harder with more brooding, pulsating riffs. There is house, techno and IDM. Just as enjoyable as the other Scuba I like a lot, Triangulations.

Funny thing is, I feel anything but claustrophobic listening to it. Yesterday I listened to it on iPhone during work out, I could just keep going for another 50 minutes. Today I listened to it again, I felt like going to the gym again.

The vinyl pressing is very very good. If you own Triangulation then you know what level of sq you can expect from it. Unfortunately it's on loan to a friend, and I miss it.

2. Portishead - Dummy 20th Anniversary Reissue UK 2014

I read in a few places that this is a good reissues so have to try it. I was not happy with the low price 2008 reissue. This is just what I needed. The bass is bassier! The overall tone is darker but still with a lot of details, and, quiet.

3. Public Service Broadcasting - The Race For Space

Nice spacy electronic sonics to race to outerspace with, or just floating through.

4. Plastikman - Ex Club Mixes

No good reviews on this one but I really enjoy this. Anything Plastikman is good!

I was bespunning this earlier ... a compilation of mostly chill-out drum-n-bass shiz from back in the day.

I'm in two minds about this, had a bit of a listen a while back. I can see and applaud what they are trying to do, and it is a pleasant listen, but it plods along in parts, and the percussion parts seemed a bit slapped on. But there are some good bits.

I must admit to only having heard it twice myself. It does plod along at times, much like the Moritz Von Oswald Trio albums do. Given the right time and mood, I do enjoy them.

Cool, glad you like it.  Their previous albums Love Comes Close and Cherish the Light Years also kick butt.

Do you have any Soft Moon?  Similar late 80's electronic feel but more industrial - also kicks butt

Oh yes, I have been listening to The Soft Moon Deeper and love it. Any idea  if Love Come Close  and Cherish Light Years sound good on vinyl? When I saw them on Matador I am not so sure...

I have both on Matador UK vinyl, regardless of what discovered say, both are Euro pressings.    They sound good but not great, Love is pretty bassy but the recordings is lofi.  Cherish is bright in comparison almost as if transfer is direct from cd.

Vinyl is quiet and much better than the Soft Moon pressings I have which are noisy as fcuk. Lucky the music is noisier  :)

I have not received my copy of the new album, which is a collection of old unreleased songs pior to Cherish.  so can't comment on any comparison.

Still well worth buying IMO anyway.

I am luckier this time, my Soft Moon is pretty quiet. Will definitely get a copy of the older Cold Cave albums. The Full Cold Moon on Deathwhish Inc. sounds pretty good while its not quite hifi, first listen no obvious surface noise so very happy...

Actually some tracks sound better than the others...

Just playing Deeper now for the first time - sat in the pile for 3 months.   the vinyl pressing is good - a LOT better than the first two albums.

Y B - you need to buy the first two lp's thou - faster, angrier more volatile than Deeper.    He seems to be maturing now as Deeper is a litle more refined - sort of if you know what I mean :)      Similar of early NIN to later NIN's.

Great, will certainly check them out.

I have played Full Cold Moon 3 times today, I guess I like it very much!

The 1st song A Little Death To Laugh didn't seem to have been recorded well, the rest sounded great. I really like Side B, but there is more to be discovered.

Blanck Mass - Dumb Flesh - 2015 - 2LP

Well, this was worth the wait. This is excellent. Six years on from the debut Blanck Mass album and he follows it up with what sounds like a Fu(k Buttons albums. No complaints from me, I love noise. Those of you that are looking for ambient drones will have to grit your teeth and hold until side four of the LP.

Cheers,

Leigh

Edit: I really, really dislike the album cover though. Besides, it's been done before.
