A picture tells a thousand words...........here's 3 thousand of 'em.

This is the road at the end of my street, pics taken this morning.

I don't know who's car got submerged, but I feel sorry for them.

Ah Queensland, beautiful one day, waterlogged the next

VERY waterlogged Grumpy. Had around 250mm since Friday....and that would just be an average. Some areas have had well over 350mm !!!

......and why do people insist on driving through flooded roads. Well attemping anyway. You can plainly see the depth indicator says around 1 metre deep. Thats about bottom of the window depth !!!!

Hi Russ,

When I saw this on the news earlier today, I immediately wondered if that was anywhere near you. Naahh, I thought.

250mm and counting, thats a lot of rain in short space of time!

Which photo was taken first? Did the floods get worse or subside as you were taking pics?

The first pic was taken whilst attempting to drop my son off to school (8:40am).

I didn't take him to school as my car is smaller than the stranded Falcon, pictured.

The 2nd & 3rd were taken around 12:45pm.

We got a month's (amount of) rain overnight.

Oh dear a road near where cableconnoisseur lives!

Is that the one that was supposed to be flood proof?

That is the very road with the Falcon pictured (with water over it of course).

It's called Rafting Ground Rd, for good reason.............:)

The road was closed for 8 months (between 2009/10) for a $10M upgrade.

And it was all washed away with a couple of days' rain.............:)

I'll save him the trouble......

It happened because it rained alot !!!!!!

I think we better build a bridge instead.
