Tonight it's two new ones (to me):

The Cinematic Orchestra - Everyday

I like this one. It's relaxing, interesting, and well, cool. I feel awesome just listening to it.

Broken Bells - Broken Bells

This is the new one from James Mercer (of The Shins fame), and Danger Mouse. To be honest I'm disappointed. There are a couple of okay tracks, but they are just that - okay. Not worth the money spent unfortunately. :(

Some old Joni Mitchell, back when she was a musician and not the bitter old shrew she is today.

;)

Blue, NZ LP, US Rhino reissue LP

The Hissing of Summer Lawns, UK Practical Hi-Fi/Nimbus Supercut

Court and Spark NZ LP

some tannoy friendly vinyl:

Dutch Tilders Direct - not a great fan of this, but is quite a revealing album

Cat Power - The greatest

Leadbelly sings folksongs

Sonny Boy Williamson and the Animals

Thats the Way I Feel Now - a tribute to Thelonious Monk

Lost in the Stars - the music of Kurt Weill

The tannoy loves this stuff, effortless - an easy speaker to like. I'll enjoy it for the next week, then byebye.....

This morning, as I type, Steely Dan's 'The Royal Scam' - I woke up with the title track rattling in my brainpan.

Last night, with the missus out at 'bookclub' ("That looks like a bottle under your arm to me") I dusted some 7" 45s:

Space Waltz: Out On the Street/Angel (EMI 1974)

Diana Ross & The Supremes: Love Child/Will This Be the Day (Tamla Motown, 1968)

Graham Parker & the Rumour: Don't Ask Me Questions/Hotel Chambermaid (Vertigo, 1976)

Manfred Mann: Mighty Quinn/By Request - Edwin Garvey (Fontana, ?1968)

Jethro Tull: Living in the Past/Driving Song (Reprise, 1969)

Jethro Tull: Living in the Past/Christmas Song (Chrysalis, 1972)

Jethro Tull: Back to the Family/Sweet Dream (Reprise, 1969)

I was re-organising some vinyl and GB was one that had never been cleaned, mainly because the label is bigger than usual.

That lead to pulling out some more 12" and before you know it...

Last cleaned some WRC NZ DG boxsets; Tchaikovsky's Sawn Lake and Symphonies 4,5,6.

And a Von Karajan Mahler No.9.

Both sounded shite !

What a waste of my Nitty Gritty.

Tonight , Budda Bar 12 (Somewhat different to the other additions, but worthwhile)

Hopefully tomorrow , new MC cart pending , Gotan 3.0 on record
:)

Interesting. What's the difference with XII? I have the others but am holding off on any more as they are becoming more expensive.

Playing Tango 3.0 LP right now, and really enjoying it (except for the annoying bad pressing faults - onto my third copy!).
