Philip Vafiadis Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Dear SNAers, VAF has a brand new set of Signature I-91 loudspeakers (one pair) which has not even been played yet (other than in testing). The glass table they were on failed and the two magnificent premium Piano Santos Palisander cabinets have suffered some scratches. The photo's are untouched so this is the full extent of the type of damage. Regular price is $3,988 plus freight for the pair. Once off right now clearance price is $2,000 plus freight. They are technically brand new so will still have our standard 10 year guarantee. Call FreeCall 1800 818 882 to order. Can ship immediately in time for Christmas. Merry Christmas to some lucky member. Ps, the moral of this story is don't put heavy things on glass...
Grumpy Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 What a bargain for someone this would be. After hearing Ruralrats 1-91's I would have jumped at this if I had the reddies:o Why were they on a glass table anyway?

RockandorRoll Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 ohh ahh umm ok im thinking dream speakers in my price range
PCORF Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 I've spent the majority of the day listening to my I-91's so yeah whoever buys these speakers is going to be a very happy person. It is also worth the extra $500 on speaker stands.
4heckssake Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 stop it. i had a look at them on Friday and have been fighting the urge to purchase since.
kye Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 come 4hs... be a lover (of new speakers), not a fighter

Grizzly Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm tipping we find out in about 4 days. Possibly less!
Rural Rat Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 All the best to the lucky recipient:party
Bluroo Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Congrats to the lucky chap, and for the speakers. My wife drove to VAF the day I retired and managed to fit 2 x DCX's in a Holden Barina and drive home, safely! So I know what this lucky guy is about to think. Cheers BR
emesbee Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) I like the I-91s, then I read this and see that they have already been sold. Whew, what a relief! (And I won't mention the minor cabinet damage on my DCX gen4's. All due to the over enthusiasm and clumsiness of the current owner when he took delivery.) Incidentally, I saw a story on TV recently about glass topped tables which failed spontaneously. Its made me resolve to never consider using glass topped tables or cabinets to store my equipment. You can't beat timber. Edited December 22, 2009 by emesbee
givendale Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I am the lucky chap.:). Well what a Christmas present, and the speakers were pretty good too! All this time you spend babbling at your partner about speakers and amps etc. and you think they are not paying any attention. Could not be more wrong. Need to go an pick them up yet. Can't wait.
MrHorsepower Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Congrats Givendale, your better half obviously shares your passion for audio, I wish you many happy listening hours to come. Now you just have to give yourself some time off to enjoy (I hear you are quite a busy fellow) CHEERS Michael.........

givendale Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Hi chaps, picked them up today, left work early cos I could not wait. Have played some Jeff Buckley, Gotan Project, The Waifs, The Sorcerers Apperntice (Berlin Philharmonic) and good old Pink Floyd. Great separation, sound stage comes out and sits in the middle of the room I have to say thanks to Philip for the opportuninty to own these speakers for the price. Really do not have the dosh to spend at the moment but these were to good to pass up. Now I just need to buid the room to put the I93's in!
