Got a nice new Turntable here. I need to get a tracking force guage so i can set it up properly, tuning the tracking force by ear has yielded surprisingly good results. Even setup the way it is, its m

I have one of those Enjo gloves that gets rid of the dust. Best thing I've bought in terms of cleaning products! No permanent girlfriend, but the few ladies that have been over always give the TT a funny look

Nathan, they understand and are jealous.

Women know beauty when they see it.

If one gives it "that" look, then you know she's a keeper!

Nice gear BTW, an excellent set-up.

Yes it is a great looking system :thumb:

And to have been lucky enough to hear the VPI through the Luxman is very nice, :thumb:

Mmm, maybe some Zingalis to top it off? ( sorry couldn't resist)

Trying to remember when you heard it last @@Capone Did i have the Verity or the VAF's still.

I quite like the Verity's

It was through the Vafs.

Also another time with some stand mounts that you were using in between the Vafs & the Veritys :)

They would have been the B&W 705s that i still have. I like those speakers, i could live with them forever i reckon

Looking very nice RR, especially that Luxman amp :love

Couldn't live without mine. :)

Went to pick up some cheap KEF's for a play today. Ended up spending a fair bit more on some Spendor A6's.

I've always wanted a pair of Spendors, didnt care what type just knew that i should hear some at least once. So I was more than happy to jump at the opportunity.

Some pictures below

I have them hooked up to Speaker B of the Luxman at the moment. Eventually they will replace the B&W's in the bedroom which are just too big for that space. I really dont want to sell them but they just dont fit.

In regards to the sound, well, I can see why I bought the Verity Finns. Everything is better with the Finns, bigger, deeper, smoother, clearer. The Finns do retail for more so i suppose thats expected.

What the Spendors do well is disappear, they make nothing obvious about themselves. nothing booms or screams, just music. They also dont care about placement, ive got them sanwhiched between the Finns and the cabinet but ive also had them exactly where the Finns sit and there was no huge difference to the presentation.

End of the day, im very happy. They will suit my needs perfectly

Lookin' good Nathan.

Hope they keep you happy for a while.

You're welcome anytime at Darryl's HiFi Emporium :)

Pretty happy with these things actually. They fit the space well and sound great for a bedroom setup.

I'm constantly surprised by this little NAD amp as well. I thought it would struggle with the 86db sensitivity of the A6, so far it seems to be holding up to reasonable listening volume

So ive sold all my stuff except the Luxman, VPI and Verity's

Ive now realised that I don't have a DAC while i ponder my upgrade. So ive turned to my faithful Bel Canto S300iu which is doing amp and DAC duties via its USB input

I dont care what people say about Bel Canto, this thing is bloody awesome. It probably doesnt have the slam that the system used to have, but vocals are still silky smooth, bass is full and the top end detail is... I think... even better!

Amazing piece of kit. Will always recommend

Sorry Nathan, but you change your system more than Adelaide weather does so this old brain finds it hard to keep up, but holy crap I love your pic skills. :thumb:

PS.. do you live in an air tight bubble - wheres the dust? No matter how much I clean there will always be some dust in my pics.

You must use a better camera Grumps. :D

Maybe my lens is dusty?

Hmmm?

I may have to go clean my lens then, it'll be easier than wiping down my whole system

Can you believe that those pics were taken with a camera phone! Nokia 830, it has a great camera on it, user adjustable everything (focus, ISO, exposure etc)

I cleaned the area before i auditioned some of the audio gear to the buyers, so thats the only reason its clean. We basically live in a construction site so its normally a lot dustier

Well, that didnt take long. New CDP/DAC in the system. Its a Yamaha CD-S2100.

If im honest, its ok.

Not as nice as the Saturn, not as functional as the NAD M51. Sounds good enough for digital. Awseome detail and imagining. Bass is deeper and there is more of it. not as silky in the guts though. Oh well, maybe it will grow on me.

Ive tried to keep it clean, so ive moved the Luxman to its new home in the unit.

The purpose of selling all the old gear was to make more of an effort with the Turntable. one of the first things to do was buy a cart that would work well with the inbuilt Luxman phono. Luckily a 2M Black came up at a good price.

Fitting this to the VPI was easy enough. Like the Clearaudio Aurum BEta before it, the thing is a little light and needs the VPI weight to get any use from the counterweight. Fitted up, set the force, works fine.

The sound though, wow the sound! Its easily my favourite source now, the TT is heads and shoulders above anything ive had in the system before. Detail, smoothness, soundstage, bass. Just everything, every single bit is better. Awesome upgrade, very happy so far.

I think ill sell some excess stuff that ive accumulated and then just buy heaps of music.

Pretty happy with it all now.
