At least it’s released before you buyING the 3850, not after!  Well thinking of that it should be released after you buying it so I can get a half priced second hand 3850 and keep half of my organ safe ?

such a bad weather, cannot come to your place, sigh

Installed the gigawatt cable..., the speed of bass simply...., for you to check it out!

Looking forward for the new server!

For what its worth, just to contextualise his comments – with all due respect – I am not sure Kal (the reviewer) Rubinson's system (especially his digital source) can quite compare to Chanh's : )

Kal's review system was noted as:

Digital sources: Oppo Digital UDP-105 universal disc player, Baetis Prodigy-X PC-based music server running JRiver Media Center v25 and Roon, exaSound e38 Mark II D/A processor. QNAP TVS-873 NAS.
Preamplifiers: Audio Research MP1Parasound P7.
Power amplifiers: Benchmark AHB2Hegel C-53Classé Sigma MonoParasound Halo A 31.
Loudspeakers: Revel Ultima2 Studio, Vivid Kaya45.
Cables: Digital: AudioQuest Coffee (USB); Analog interconnects: AudioQuest Earth/DBS balanced, Kubala-Sosna Anticipation (RCA); Speaker cables: Benchmark Studio&Stage (NL2 to banana), Canare 4S11 (Blue Jeans Cable); AC cables: Kubala-Sosna Emotion, SignalCable MagicPower 20A.
Accessories: AudioQuest Niagara 5000 and Brick-Wall BrickWall 8RAUD power conditioners, HDPLEX 400W ATX Linear Power Supply, CyberPower 850PFCLCD AC battery backup (supplied with Baetis server).
Listening room: 24' L × 14' W × 8' H, furnished with 2 MSR Acoustics Dimension4 SpringTraps in the front corners, 2 Ready Acoustics Chameleon Super Sub Bass Traps to the sides, and moderately sound-absorbing furniture. Front wall has large windows partly covered by fabric drapes and 4" thick 2' × 4' OC 705 panels. Rear of room opens into 10' × 7' foyer and a 12' × 8' dining area.—Kal Rubinson

Yes I know the cost, but compare to the pre amp it’s cheap. And his metre box is just beside if I remember right, so not too many metres of cables are required.

Anyone can get his digital front end upto enjoyable level. I hope to share and collaborate my journey with those share the same interest and passionate.

Keen to invite you back for the audition once the servers are done...., not long to go! ?
I kept getting distracted with other Tweaks and SQ refinements.

Finally I have pushed forward with the preamps acquisition. Finding a right preamps has been a journey, hence constant distraction to my server building progress....

With the preamp has now been secured, time to assemble the power supplies for the dual servers.

power supplies are foundation of SQ, and I will not likely to compromise them at any cost.....!

This is an example of my previous built DAC power supplies.68498FAA-2CE6-4B26-A28D-6751466CC880.thumb.jpeg.94f239e5c08d985332ec20289a3cce89.jpeg

With these on, average gears as such elevated into whole new highend sonic level.... Love it!

Interested in why you chose those particular treatments and what you think they are doing, and finally what they do to the sound you hear. Room looks amazing @Chanh!!

Very simple..., I can’t justified the cost for those audiophile grade ($$$) treatment panels that is only good for aesthetic.

Overall...., some have heard my room and the process made at each stage. Will let them translate this better.

@Mendes  and @teagle would you pls be able to share your observations from your last visit? ?

@Chanh system was no slouch before the treatment and many would have been content.

After the treatment the first thing I noticed was an improvement in depth of sound stage (front to back was a lot bigger and even higher if that is possible) with imaging left to right width increased also.

You  get more of a sense of the space/ room/ venue the music was recorded in.

Hmmmm! Where to begin?

Chahn designed / specified the room to sound excellent from the off! Once the Magicos were dialled in , prior to any room treatment the system gelled without any OBVIOUS deficiencies. Relax fellow and enjoy it! says I. But Chahn rightfully insisted it could sound better, there were no problems to address as such, just a pursuit of raising the bar so to speak. He has succeeded greatly, the system can play far too loud without strain or signs of distortion. The soundstage is massive & almost enveloping, the noise floor has dropped, so micro details are clearer without being distractions. When listening off axis the sound remains cohesive. All in All it's a joy to listen too, when I control the volume?.

Last time I heard your system we heard 3 different hi-end preamps & you had installed a further power supply to power the monos, all of which made for an interesting time. The room certainly didn't impose any limits on being able to hear clearly the differences between the preamps.

I know you've decided on the replacement pre, & are working on the music server, I certainly can't see the need to change anything else, unless the cable bug gets hold of you!

Anyway I'm sure Mario will have some advice for you on Sunday?. Congratulations on a wonderful system & I'll waste my breath by saying again, relax & enjoy it!!
