Just buy the original Lea and Perrins

  • ....No!! Rant begins!   How dare they market this miserable peely-wally excuse as Worcestershire sauce. Like you said, the sauce I grew up with is no longer even recognisable!   cheers   mick

Do tell.

The best Guinness is from Dublin....

The best Pork Pies are from Melton Mowbary .......all others are ...well....

Tase.

Make your own :thumb:

You can never tell what ingredient was used.

Just buy the original Lea and Perrins

that's what I was thinking also

Just buy the original Lea and Perrins

Well I've seen it on the shelves but always thought it was secondary to Holbrook's.  Funny thing is, I've noticed a decline in Holbrook's over the years as well.  Your post, and some time spent in the Googletron, has made me throw out my Holbrook's and pick up a new bottle of Lea & Perrins.  Will see how it goes...

For me, always a slight dash or two into the spaghetti bolognese sauce, thanks...

i grew up with holbrooks on everything i love it .i like the colemans plain  worcestershire and lee and perins. but was recently surprised with how much i have been enjoying a bottle of BLACK&GOLD : ) its pretty yum and still has molasses i wasn't aware that holbrooks had taken it out.

Now I've been a big fan of Holbrooks Worcestershire Sauce since I were but I stripling and I have a bottle that's been slowly used over the years and the level was getting down so I bought another one. In plastic not glass now of course.

But it's a watery mockery.  The molasses has been replaced by brown sugar and no doubt there's been some more fiddling.

Just like Vegemite is aerated so you use more, HWS is not what it used to be.

Rant ends.

The same has happened with women.

Possibly men as well.
