Please check your avatars

Featured Replies

My we are an inventive and often whimsical lot on SNA. Many of us put a lot of thought into our on-line SNA avatars however...

Can we please remind people of the forum guidelines, if you wouldn't be happy having your partner/child/mother seeing the avatar that you have chosen then please reflect that someone else's mother/child/partner will also be looking. Individual avatars may be clever and funny but some of them cost us visitors and users to the site as not everyone appreciates your taste or humour. This is not a call for bland characterless avatars but rather a request to review your choice and if in doubt check with us or just change it.

Otherwise the mods will do it, and we'd actually rather people changed their own.

Thanks

  • Damn good idea Prof. There really are some super cheesy, sleazy avatars that remind me of what was considered OK in the 60's,when women were regarded only as cooks and sex objects.   I love the fema

It's pretty simple really. Over time SNA has evolved and there is a growing focus on making it safe for work and family friendly.    That means avatars reminiscent of the calendars some members had

I love the female body as much as anyone, but it is best admired in private, by consenting adults who have respect for one another

Probably. Certainly if the mother was over 30.

You are making large assumptions there.

I can guarantee every person in my family would not. They would just see an Avatar of a woman weilding a knife -    they will however never see this picture as they have zero interest in going onto a hifi web site :D        note smiley

Fair enough MB. I'm not trying to be contrary or make trouble.

The fact remains however that the picture is not a woman and IMO, very few people would take any offence to said picture. Most of today's kids wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Cheers

Er, not a woman and the avatar is a poster from the film A Clockwork Orange, which is explicitly about how people are mind-controlled and programmed and manipulated by the elite, on a personal and societal level. The film maker Kubrick was not approving of it, he was exposing it.

I asked a simple question; why so sensitive?
