  4. Item: Opera Callas Bookshelf Speakers Location: Sydney CBD Price: $3500 Item Condition: Mint Reason for selling: Floorstanders Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, bank deposit - Can post - have boxes - totally mint! Extra Info: About 1 years old For sale is a mint set of Italian Hand Made Opera Callas bookshelf speakers. They retail for $6,500 here in Aus and are truly amazing for their size http://www.sydneyhificastlehill.com.au/prod156.htm (note price on site excludes GST). They really are one of the best bookshelf speakers I've owned since my old Elac 602's around 10 years ago. These speakers have so much detail, much like an old pair of Sonus Faber guarneri speakers. Remember the old ones with the sexy first order Crossover? Well these have that same smooth lilac velvet sound that seems to sound best with some tubes. I also had really good results from these speakers from my old ME75 amplifier. These speakers just make things listenable; I'd mention more typical Italian designed buzz words but honestly - the speakers 'speak' for themselves. Pictures: See below
  5. Item: Consonance Cyber-100 integrated valve amp Location: Ballarat Price: $1800 ono + Postage Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Adding and subtracting from the system, I recently upgraded and am now in the process of selling. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Very impressive, special 15th anniversary model, designed to use everything learnt over the years about integrated amplifier design. Pure Class A, 35 watt/ch, KT88 tubes. Except the previous owner replaced the tubes with KT120's for a bigger bass sound and in my opinion it is a great stepping stone to enhance your gear for that original valve sound at a great price. To purchase this new from http://www.osbornloudspeakers.com.au/ will cost you $2485 and that's without replacing your tubes to the KT120's. Happy to answer any questions you might have. Pictures:

  9. Item: Pair of Consonance Cyber 845s Mono Blocks Location: MELBOURNE Price: $2950 Item Condition: EXCELLENT Reason for selling: PACKING UP FOR HOME RENOVATIONS (also check out my other listings!) Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, PayPal, Direct Deposit, COD (upon delivery by me) Extra Info: I am offering for sale a pair of truly remarkable Consonance Cyber 845s Mono Blocks. My passion for faithful reproduction of music spans over 35 plus years, the period over which I have owned a good number of quality ('big name') world famous audio components, including few amplifiers costing very significantly more than the Cybers. When few years ago I came across the Consonance brand it didn't take me long to realise that it has to be one of the most 'overlooked' manufacturers of Hi-End audio. (perhaps particularly so here in Aus - seeing that their products command considerably higher prices in Europe!) In fact my previous amps were the Cyber 845 Mono Blocks which I have listed and sold here on SN back in November 2014. And as I stated at the time, those amps have easily 'dethroned' in my system their predecessor, Mark Levinson 331 ($10K plus). As great as the 845 were, moving up to the 845s, which I am offering here, has delivered an even further level of refinement - an improvement that is easily appreciable! I am the first owner. The amps have performed flawlessly at all times and are in excellent condition. Prefer a local pick up but would consider appropriately insured currier delivery at buyer's cost. Happy to answer any relevant questions; please use PM. Richard
  10. Item: Opera Grand Mezza Location: Lane Cove 2066 Price: ($3899 new) Item Condition: 9.5/10 Reason for selling: upgrade Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, unfortunately no packaging so it will be a local pickup Extra Info: A beautiful speaker that I had pair well with the Yamaha AS1000 amplifier and now Naim Unitilite. Finish to the same quality as the Sonus Faber, with cherry wood and leather. Quality binding posts and spikes. Pictures:
  11. Further information: This Georg Solti / Vienna Philharmonic Wagner Ring performance/recording is still regarded by many as the best on record, and no subsequent reissue even gets close to equalling these spectacularly good limited edition pressings by Decca UK. Released in 1970 as a limited special edition. 22 records in 5 boxes enclosed in a uniquely designed outer slipcase. At the time it was the highest priced record set on the market and sold out soon after release! I recall "Mr Rowe Street" (Sydney's most iconic classical record store owner) pointing to the "last unsold copy in Australia" and the following week it was gone. The boxes are now 50 years old and inevitably the outer cover and box spines have sustained minor degradation over that time, but remain in beautiful condition overall. I've conservatively classed them as VG+. Everything else ranges from NM to MINT condition!!! Most of the vinyl has NEVER been played. Each box has full libretto in German and English along with detailed synopsis of each opera as well as technical recording details. The full set weighs just under 12 kg before packing it up protectively for shipping, so allow at least 13 kg shipping weight. Note that I have access to much better insured interstate shipping rates than Australia Post. For instance estimate for fast door-to-door delivery to inner Melbourne OR even inner Perth suburbs from Sydney, including insurance, would be under $30! There is a similar-condition set (maybe not quite as good) on eBay for UK£330 (about AU$600) plus shipping (+$200 to Australia) plus GST. PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE Additional information from Discogs Wagner's Der Ring Des Nibelungen 22 LP Decca Box Set Incredible 1970 UK TWENTY TWO stereo LP boxed set of the complete edition of Richard Wagner's four part opera, 'Der Ring des Nibelungen', also known as 'The Ring Cycle' featuring the four operas 'Das Rheingold','Die Walkure', 'Siegfried' and 'Gotterdammerung'. There is also a unique three record introduction to 'The Ring' set narrated by Deryck Cooke featuring excerpts from the four operas. Each opera is in its own separate wooden ended partition with full size libretto booklets containing synopsis & full transcription for the operas. The performance is THE classic version by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Georg Solti, a powerful orchestral drama, phenomenal performance and superb sound. The whole ensemble is enclosed in a very weighty carved wooden box with gilded front panel.
