looking at your photo you are just using your fiio as an amp,you need to connect it to your phone by a usb cable to make it get a digital signal and operate as a dac and amp

could anyone help me identify this phono amp so i found this phono amp in the back room during a clean up i believe it may be ex abc radio, there is what looks like jc jacques on the circuit board possibly i did use it maybe 15 years ago into various amps but as it has the b (bass) t(treble)and level adjustments i never was sure how to really set it,maybe easier to do now with the available room measuring tools there is a mono/stereo switch in the middle of the circuit board as i dont have any use for it now i was going to reuse the case and power supply and some of the other parts

yes the tube is removable,i have a jan 5670w installed,the op amps are not removable on this unit,i looked at installing sockets which seems fairly easy but lost interest due to tinnitus yes i would be happy to sell it,i will send you a message

i believe these were also known as Xiang Sheng DAC-01A, also known as Grant Fidelity DAC-09 & Maverick Audio Tube Magic DAC It has 2x Analog inputs and USB, Optical and Coaxial for digital inputs has 2 outputs on the rear 1 tube buffer output and 1 pure solid state output the optical toslink is far better than the USB connection. you can switch back and forth and hear the difference16/44 thru USB i have one here which i was thinking of selling

usually to connect a dac to an amp via xlr balanced you use a pair of xlr interconnects which have a 3 pin female plug on one end and a 3pin male plug on the other,they should be a standard fitting and budget cables are available at jb hifi,jaycar,muso shops,hifi shops

some headphones can be converted to balanced with a new cable,what phones will you be using and which amp

i got a telstra locked zte on special for $9 delivered plus unlock code from ebay uk for $2,great basic phone speaks when you enter the numbers,changeable batteries just dont try to use as a music player

you should be able to buy a code on the ebay place to unlock it

as above, try out some phones if you can ,a good fit is as important as sound ,head size and ear size effect comfort and fit

get a portable music player something like an xduoo x10 or shanling m1 can be bought from ebay for around 150 to 230 new no extra cables no interferance from your phone no itunes ,no flat battery whem you need to make a phone call

thats a great price for genuine ie80,i love my pair ,maybe buy some cheapies to tide you over until they arrive,i use soundmagic mp21 for workshop use cost about $40 still going after 5 years
