Let me know if you want to talk about a deal for both. Pictures:
  4. I already have a push pull el34 that I am very happy with.
  5. Thanks for the thoughts everyone. As suspected there is no clear answer. My current speakers are Spendor SP-1s and Diatone 610s in a custom box so both have reasonable efficiency and benign loads. I guess in terms of music, I don't want the amp to restrict the kind of music I can listen to. The comment about the footy club might put me off the LM!
  6. Both of these integrated amps are for sale in the classifieds at the moment for a similar price. Does anyone have an opinion or preference for one or the other? (Ignoring the issue of voltage setting!)
  7. Thanks for that. Saves me buying a transformer.
  8. I have a high output moving coil (Dynavector DV-10X5) going in to a MM only phono stage. There is plenty of gain, but do I need to worry about the impedance loading, as it isn't designed to load for MC carts? It sounds fine, but I'm wondering if it can be better.
  9. Just to clarify - back label says speeds are 3 3/4 & 7 1/2. Description says 19 - 38 cm/s. Which one is it?
  10. Item: ALO Campfire Audio Orion IEM Location: Sydney Price: $250 Item Condition: Used but in original condition with packaging Reason for selling: Upgrading to the next model (Jupiter) Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Here's a great review of these: http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2015/12/interstellar-overdrive-campfire-audio-orion-jupiter-lyra/ Original tips are unused. 11. Item: Tisbury Audio - Mini Passive Preamplifier Location: Sydney, NSW Price: $200 Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: Upgrading to a transformer passive Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I've been using this for a little while and it's transparency is very impressive. The switchable gain for the sources lets you match your volume. I am the first owner, and I'm happy to post at cost, as it's quite small. Here's a link to the website: http://tisburyaudio.co.uk/mini-passive-preamplifier A simple line controller with audiophile acclaimed sound quality. Use it to control volume, switch between multiple sources, connect multiple amps, control active speakers or add outputs for a subwoofer, headphone amp or just about any line-level device. SMD Stepped Attenuator Key to the excellent sound quality is the stepped attenuator, which utilises an array of thin film SMD resistors to provide precise, stepped volume control and excellent channel balance at all levels. New Look, More Inputs and Outputs Our second generation preamp now has 3 inputs, 2 configurable outputs and a laser engraved walnut + aluminium enclosure. The chassis is longer, more substantial and remains stable with heavy cables. Selectable Fixed Attenuation A new feature is the selectable attenuation, which allows you to reduce the signal by a fixed -10 dB or -20 dB. If your system has too much gain and you can't turn the volume dial past 12 o'clock without hearing damage, this setting will help. Configurable Outputs Output 1 is the primary output and its level is set by the volume control. Output 2 can be configured (by switches on the base) as either an additional primary output, or as a 'loop' out, to bypass the volume control and loop out to another device. Handmade in England Our products are designed, made, and tested in our London workshop and the vast majority of parts and labour costs go to British companies. We could probably have it made cheaper in China, but that wouldn't be true British quality hi-fi now, would it?
  12. Sorry I just assumed "Hiend" was an adjective not a brand name.
  13. That's correct. So they are the same as these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-HiEND-4inch-NEO-full-range-fullrange-speaker-defy-lowther-fostex-MK2-/321747141119?rmvSB=true
  14. Maybe I'm not reading this right, but can you clarify: Are speakers included? If so, what are they?
  15. Hi Simon So if you used it with a shuffle function on files with differing sample rates, then you will get noises? What about swapping from mp3 to flac for example?
  16. I wish I could take the credit for my children's artistic efforts but I stole it from the internet.
  17. Hi everyone. I've browsed for a while so I thought I should register. I'm a long time lover of lover of valve gear (since 1981)
