The Adelaide-based manufacturer says the new models deliver deeper bass, greater dynamic headroom and a more refined Real Cinema at Home experience for medium to large dedicated rooms.

The MX-20 Mk2 receives the most extensive overhaul. Krix has replaced the Mk1’s 10-inch low-frequency driver with a new 12-inch design featuring a larger 2.5-inch voice coil for greater output and reduced distortion. The doped fabric dome tweeter and waveguide have been superseded by a patented Krix constant-directivity horn and compression driver, bringing improved dispersion control, higher sensitivity and markedly stronger dynamics. Recommended amplifier power increases from 500 to 700 Watts RMS across the left, centre and right channels, reflecting the system’s greater headroom.

Like the larger models, the MX-20 Mk2 also features a reversible subwoofer module with a dual-terminal layout, providing installers with greater flexibility when accommodating screen-height constraints and stage construction.

The MX-30i and MX-40i retain the familiar left, centre and right modules but introduce a new infrasonic-capable subwoofer engineered to extend performance beyond the audible range. Krix has developed an 18-inch low-frequency driver with significantly higher excursion and power handling, designed to reproduce the physical impact of cinema effects. The subwoofer cabinet features a reversible design with dual terminals, allowing installers to orient the module either up or down while maintaining the original system's uniform height and slimline depth. Existing MX-30 and MX-40 owners can upgrade to the new sub modules thanks to this consistent enclosure profile.

Krix emphasises that all three systems continue the company’s long-standing commitment to Australian engineering and local manufacturing. The MX-30i, MX-40i and MX-20 Mk2 are designed to reproduce sound through the picture plane via acoustically transparent screens, mirroring the intent and presentation of commercial theatres but scaled for residential spaces.

Australian availability is scheduled to begin in mid-December through authorised Krix dealers, with international deliveries set to commence from March 2026.
