The move is less about entering new territory and more about tightening control over how the brand is represented and supported at the dealer and integrator level. Krix says the partnership is designed to improve accessibility and technical support while positioning its cinema-led systems more firmly within the region’s growing custom installation sector.

Founded in 1974 and based in Adelaide, Krix has built its reputation on commercial cinema installations, with systems deployed in more than 4,500 theatres worldwide. That heritage continues to inform its residential offering, where large-format cinema engineering is adapted for home environments rather than scaled-down hi-fi use cases.

Custom AV Distribution, a trade-only supplier based in Marlow, brings a different kind of strength. The company focuses on supporting integrators with system design, calibration, and demonstration-led sales. An approach that aligns with Krix’s emphasis on performance-led installations rather than retail-driven volume.

Its showroom will play a central role in the rollout, with plans to showcase Krix systems, including the MX-20 Mk2, in a dedicated demonstration environment. The facility is structured around multiple experience zones covering projection, immersive audio, and integrated lifestyle systems, giving dealers a controlled space to present complete home cinema solutions.

Jamie Pullen, Managing Director of Custom AV Distribution, said the partnership reflects growing demand for higher-performance home cinema systems:
We’re incredibly excited to partner with Krix. It’s an amazing brand with a rich heritage and a product range that truly delivers on performance. We see enormous potential for Krix within the UK and Ireland as demand continues to grow for high-quality, dedicated home cinema spaces.

For Krix, the decision appears equally strategic. Managing Director Gary Krix pointed to alignment between the two companies’ approach to dealer engagement and long-term growth:
Krix has enjoyed a strong and loyal following in the UK and Ireland for many years, and we’re excited to build on that foundation with Custom AV Distribution. Their team brings a level of energy and dealer focus that aligns perfectly with our approach.
The agreement will see Krix’s dedicated home cinema range spanning in-room, on-wall and architectural loudspeakers distributed through CAVD’s network of specialist integrators. For the brand, it’s a way of reinforcing its cinema credentials in a market increasingly leaning toward purpose-built home theatre spaces rather than multi-use media rooms.

For the channel, it adds another established performance-led option at a time when demand for immersive, large-scale residential systems continues to grow, particularly at the premium end of the custom installation market.
