Set within one of North London’s most characterful neighbourhoods, the Islington store has been styled to echo the warmth of a carefully considered home. Soft furnishings, decorative accessories and a calm tonal palette replace the colder conventions of technology retail, while subtle stereo-inspired colour details add a note of nostalgia. The result is a relaxed setting where visitors are encouraged to slow down, sit back and listen.

The Islington store is one of the first shaped by the brand’s Sensory Concept 3 design philosophy. Conceived as more than a conventional showroom, the space is designed to make premium audio feel intimate, tactile and emotionally engaging, placing the listening experience at the centre of the visit.

According to Kristophe Chalimon, Director of Store Planning and Design & VM at Bang & Olufsen, the concept is intended to bring the brand’s sound and design language into a more natural domestic context. “Bang & Olufsen’s beautiful design and exceptional sound comes to life in the home,” he says, adding that the Islington store has been created to emulate that same sense of warmth and serenity.
Personal Luxury Without the Pressure
The Sensory Concept also signals a softer approach to high-end audio retail. Rather than overwhelming you with specifications, the store invites discovery through demonstration, conversation and one-to-one guidance. Whether you’re an experienced hi-fi enthusiast or are simply curious about building a better listening space at home, the experience is designed to feel accessible while retaining Bang & Olufsen’s familiar sense of exclusivity.

Alongside product demonstrations, the Islington store offers Bang & Olufsen’s premium Atelier personalisation service, handing you access to an extended selection of materials via a dedicated Atelier Cabinet. Professional installation is also available, with certified installers helping to position, integrate and tailor products for individual homes.

Repair support rounds out the service offer, giving you a direct route to assistance should your products require attention. Together, these services position the store not only as a place to browse, but as a long-term point of contact for ownership, care and home integration.
Home Cinema, Smart Tech and Everyday Listening
Visitors to the new store can explore a range of speakers, televisions and home theatre solutions, from surround sound systems to Dolby Atmos soundbars and TVs designed to deliver impressive audio in their own right. The emphasis is on helping customers understand what will work best in their homes, whether they are expanding an existing setup or starting from scratch.

The showroom also highlights Bang & Olufsen’s smart home capabilities, including the Beoliving app, which brings control of music, lighting, climate, security and shades into a single interface for iOS and Android devices.

For personal listening, you can test Bang & Olufsen headphones, comparing sound quality, features and fit in a more comfortable setting than a typical shop demonstration. The store also showcases connected speakers influenced by Scandinavian design, with placement options ranging from floor-standing and wall-mounted models to bookshelf-friendly systems.

Multiroom demonstrations show how wireless speakers can connect music across the home, allowing listeners to move between rooms, continue playback and control their system through the Bang & Olufsen app.
Heritage For Modern Living
Throughout the store, Bang & Olufsen’s familiar balance of acoustic engineering and sculptural design is presented as part of everyday living rather than as technology for technology’s sake. Soundbars, loudspeakers and televisions are displayed in ways that show how they can sit naturally within the home while still making a visual statement.

The Islington showroom also draws on the company’s history. Technical drawings and archival advertising reference the brand’s journey from its founding in Struer in 1925 to its latest attempt to reframe luxury audio retail around atmosphere, touch and personal experience.
The new Bang & Olufsen of Islington store is now open at 140 Offord Road, London, UK, N1 1PF.
