AURALiC's Altair G2.1 is described as being a comprehensively featured product, developed to account for both digital and analogue sources, according to the manufacturer, and we were certainly impressed by the Altair G1.
Altair G2.1 benefits from the combination of extensive features and top-quality performance. Featuring an analogue volume control similar to that on the Vega G2.1. Being based on a resistive ladder design, it promises an ultra-quiet signal, no matter the input. Meanwhile, we're told that Class A Orfeo Output Modules allow for an ultra-low-noise and low-distortion signal in the analogue domain. All of that is wrapped securely within AURALiC's Unity chassis arrangement that puts a copper sub-chassis on an aluminium base supported by a six-spring suspension footer system.
Altair G2.1 also houses two separate all-analogue inputs, completely bypassing the digital structure and maintaining a pure analogue signal from input to output. Firstly, the line-level analogue input includes home theatre bypass functionality; secondly, an in-house engineered moving-magnet phono stage supplies an elegant, direct, and quiet connection to a turntable, says AURALiC.

As with the Applause Award-winning Vega G2.1, the processing is handled by the manufacturer's top-of-the-line Tesla platform, complete with dual Femto clocks to deliver precisely-timed signals and reducing associated jitter.
Roon Readiness is joined by Lightning DS control for iOS users as well as OpenHome-based control software compatibility. Naturally, Qobuz, Tidal, and Spotify Connect are all welcome, with more to come soon.
