i Grill mini thermometer

Thought I try out this fancy thermometer for my slow cooking in my Weber or when I fire up the wood fired oven. Bloody marvellous device down load an app on my iPhone can view the temp it has a graph on the iPhone through the cooking process. Man technology I am not a big fan of devices like this loving it listening to music and enjoying a bourbon while the roast beef slow cooks over a 6 to 8 hour period oh well time will tell.

Funny thing my daughter thinks it is a nerdy thing, I thought I discovered something revolutionary 😃

Wow, very cool! It probably doesn't read high enough for my woodfired pizza oven (generally 300-400 degrees) but it would certainly be useful during the heating process and for ensuring the temps don't drop below 300.

What's the quality of the probe and wire like? Is it likely to be able to withstand sustained use at high temps, or should it be shoved in, temperature measured, then pulled back out?

The wire on the probe looks like it's very good but time will tell,I am currently using it in the weber with the probe in the beef it gives you the temperature of the meat while cooking, this is all new to Me I've had some disasters cooking beef in my wood fired oven, oven to hot drying the meat.
