whats wrong with diet coke?

Really? For a start any "diet" drink makes the body produce insulin just like real sugar does, so not the benefit they may seem to be. Diet Coke also uses aspartame as the sweetener. I'd rather limit my intake of this plus all the extra caffeine. Medical science is at odds with whether aspartame is dangerous to our health, and being the cynic I am, I tend to believe that the scientists that say it's perfectly safe may have a vested interest.

But it doesn't make you fat like sugar does right?

I'm rarely online sober........

Degas eh? Love his ballerina paintings. I drove all the way to Canberra when the NGA had his special exhibition.

Do you also like ballet, Andrew?

Yes, well. Noted.

I do like Ballet. We should go sometime.

Actually I like all the arts; sport holds little interest to me these days except cricket - the long form of course - which is at least played at a sensible pace and only occasionally involves Mexican hats and such. Not that anyone takes the time to play themselves in properly these days - it is all a slog fest from the get go. Oh and when the All Blacks play of course.

Ella this morning. Very pleasant.

Don't worry - that is what the speed is for....

I have nil interest in watching sports. Even less if it's group sports.

Sports I like - cage fighting, swimming, surfing etc. I just go to gym nowadays.

Funny because I like orchestral music way more than chamber ones.

You like Cage Fighting? And you drink? I'm not going anywhere with you! At 51 self preservation kicks in.

I used to dig it before UFC dominated the scene. Not much these days. Would still love to train to compete but I cannot find the right time and venue.

Drink. As I said before, I just fall asleep.

Am running three times a week but back to half a carton on the weekends.

For me, it is definitely self medicating, giving the brain some respite after the weeks craziness.

Seem to be hovering around the good old 95 kg's, haha.

3 runs a week is doing great ! darren )

have been hovering too... still around 92.... :D

off the grog ...no ...but only in moderation...in the last week was one small glass of wine

week before not so good couple of glasses of white

Having 4-5 beers every night.

Reached the heaviest in my life. Around 90 kg.

Not much of a gut though.

I eat pretty healthy during week days at work. Fruits, salad & meat.

When I'm home, not so much lol.

i find it hard to just completely give up. its a social thing. and my doc said the odd glass here and there won't hurt so keeping that :)

you've done very well !

yeah I've struggled with the exercise to fit in…between weather and busy at work last few weeks. weather is very bad suddenly in the last week here…not really kind of thing to be jogging in !

I should go to the gym more often…motivation…and bike riding is also an option I guess should do more of that too !

should should should hehe

I don't mind running in the rain, just straight into the laundry when I get home then a nudie run to the bathroom for a shower, haha!!

I'll slip on the tiles one day.

That wont be pretty.

decided it's my birthday weekend so had 2 scotchs and half a bottle of red wine last night after pretty well being off it for 2 months. OMG, you really do build up a resistance with regular drinking. I still feel like I've been run over by a truck. I think I'm better off not drinking at all, I'm no good at moderation.

I generally go out socialising to pubs and clubs 4 or 5 times a week. Some times I drink alcohol and sometimes I do not. I always drive so even when I drink it is in moderation. If I am drinking red wine my limit is 2 glasses , anymore than that is problematic as I get headaches (probably due to the tannins).

I often hear about people wanting to give up the grog but I have never felt the need. I don't enjoy hangovers so that is a good incentive to not drink excessively. Works for me. Just my thoughts

I have found a new trick!!

Had some food poisoning last Sunday night, went from 8pm until 4 am Mon morning, was a trembling aching mess all Monday at home.

Threw up so much all of the blood vessels in my right eye have blown, still not pretty.

All the time I was throwing up, I thought of beer.

Haven't hardly had any since and if I have, I have been gingerly sipping, basically one stubbie to everyone else's two. Only drinking socially and no drinking on my own at all.

It seems I have tricked my brain!! Huzzah.

Am also back under 95 kg again. :)

No no, don't thank me, haha. Sheesh.

goodness ! hehe not kind of thing want to do every weekend :D

I've been going up and down ladders a bit in the last week or so... seem to have actually dropped under 92 actually even saw a under 91 this morning with a 90 point something wow ! not seen a drop like that for a while :)

It was a lump of corned meat that I cooked up, from Coles.

Whoodathunk?

Eek! I had food poisoning last year. Freak me it was awful. I woke at about midnight feeling totally wrong. Within an hour my discomfort was solidified, rising from the depths like the Kraken of doom before I was at the bowl all guns blazing. Worst part was the the aches and fatigue that lasted for days afterwards which required me to cut short my bike tour. The cause it seems was a big mac from McDonalds which is rotten luck given that I've had Macca's a couple of times over the last 5 years.

Food poisoning works a treat for hardcore diet ;)

And abstinence.

Not necessarily some would try compensating the lack of alco by consuming sweets

Thankfully I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Homemade shortbread doesn't count does it?
