You Had WHAT bread

During the War we only had Russian Black Bread

And even that was stolen from the Bolshies

Nude,

Today, that bread would probably sell for $10 a loaf in Mosman and Toorak delis...:D

but why not ??

You guys make for good entertainment whilst being stuck at work on beautiful Saturday morning here in Sydney (after about 2 weeks of rain).

Last nights dinner was Spatchcok Chicken, marinated in Olive Oil, Lemon juice, Salt, ground Pepper, Ginger, Paprika, a dash of Curry Powder and Garlic, cooked over Volcanic rock and rosemary in my Gas Weber. A few chips and a Salad. Very nice.

Good morning.

Todays meals at work.

For breakfast we had brewed coffee followed by warmed jam donnuts .

For lunch its a home cooked Indian affair .Starters meat & vegie samossa's and mail beaf & chicken curry vindaloo & naan bread .

Cheers

That sounds awesome Grumpy. We do pretty much the same thing with chooks here now and then, and Rick Stein did a similar recipe on the cooking channel the other day too.

Last night (before nightshift) I made braised beef and shitake mushrooms

(please 2S no accompanying punpics on that one:)).

Just loooooove those shitake mushys.

MMmmmmmm.....mmmmmmm cant get me enough of shitake.

(oh alright 2S....go on then.....:D)

:D

Cheers,

Jake

Jake,

Don't like shitake mushrooms, myself. I am more of a porcini fan - now there's a mushroom for you :D

Do you know how they make shitake muchrooms? Apparently they take a rotting log, spray it with spores, keep it in a damp dark place for a few weeks, and then, before you know it .......

SHITAKE HAPPENS !!! :D:D:D

Hopefully JCR won't be posting any photos of lobster thermidor and crepes suzette today, 'cos I had to settle for peanut butter on toast and a cup of tea today

Can anyone beat that...?

Actually had leftover spatchcock chicken, cooked very similar to how Grumpy described above. Fan-bloody-tastic!

Half a box of Barbeque Shapes, a cup of Nescafe Blend 43 and a ciggie for dessert.

Yum.
