I guess you guys know why American beer is like making love in a boat?

Yes, we do.

  • The difference is your sense of smell. Believe it or not, a substantial portion of your sense of taste also includes your sense of smell. When you wrap your lips around a bottle or can, you cut that o

Why would anyone spray beer under their arms?

  • When I'm on the road in our caravan, I buy my beer in cans if I can (some beers I like don't come in cans).  But I don't drink them out of cans, I "decant" them into a glass.  Beer out of a can is NOT

Yes, we do.

All good then :nana

There are actually a lot of good beers from the USA but unfortunately  because Budweiser is such a famous and best selling beer it has come to represent American Beer. It is brewed with up to 30% of RICE in place of proper Malting Barley because it is cheaper to source. This explains it's god awful wishy washy taste. Pure and unadulterated muck.

This brown Ale is very nice, from Montana -

I'll have or two Coronas but with lime, not lemon.

Overpriced lollywater.

Seen them for $60/carton at times.

My mate swears by them.

And he doesn't put lemon or lime in either.

(It DOES make them better regardless of the original reason - germs, keep the flies out whatever)

I keep telling him that whe he grows up he'll learn to appreciate real beer that tastes like beer.

I was drinking Brooklyn Lager...................it's more like an ale.

can vs bottle

what does it matter, its beer, tastes sh ! t either way

I agree, it's like the analog v digital argument - why listen to either, all music stinks

longnecks all the way!

My preferred drops (pale or sparkling) are bottle and tap only, however in warmer months I love the cans and happily sip boags draught or yebisu cans all summer long

Not as noisy on recycling day either!

I love partaking in discussions I have no interest in as well.

Coopers Pale Ale is made in a can, they just rename it to Dr Tims Traditional Ale. I have confirmed this personally with the brewery. They originally were going to label it Pale Ale but the marketing eggheads didn't want to tarnish the pale ale brand.

Thanks for the heads up! Roll on summer!

I preferred my beer from glass for decades until they ran out of cartons of the Coopers Mild in the stubbies so I bought cans and thought it tasted so much better  -  So, I bought one stubbie and opened a can and did a taste test, blind, with the missus pouring a glass each . The can won every time I tried the test.

So there, my little bit of knowledge from 45 years of beering.

no no no

its more like digital vs digital, cd vs streaming, dac vs dac

its digital, has to suck

:P

The other advantage is Dr Tims is usually priced a few bucks cheaper than Pale, so you're getting the same beer at a lower price! Win!

We'll have to discuss this over a beer sometime John...!

Could soft drink be included in the discussion? I don't drink but do prefer bottled soft drink (glass bottle Coke is the best)... :)

I beleive that was originally produced for the Adelaide Big Day Out

Cracked the Tap King last night, James Boags Premium.  Result?  Superb.  3 of us drinking and all were very impressed.

So now, for me, can vs bottles = tap king.  Closest thing I'll ever have to a full keg line at home.

We are having the painters thru.  Time for a clean up - even in the cellar.  So I threw out a carton of 1999 Fosters that was lurking in the corner, yes 1999.  They had advertising for the upcoming 2000 Olympics.  Can't imagine why I bought it in the first place, but anyway.  They were all still very fizzy and smelt like beer so maybe they were still drinkable.  I didn't try them though!

You had to try one!

Haha - is there a doctor on standby?  Mrs A thought it particularly whimpy of me not to try it.  Think i'll stick to the other stuff in the cellar - even if it tastes like rotten grape juice.

[in retrospect yes I should have had a sip.  It's not every day you can taste 15 year old beer.  Maybe beer keeps longer than everyone thinks.  Are there aged or vintage beers?]

You made the right choice. It would have been 'orrible
