Featured Replies

Just brought a pair and asking what type of amp paits well with them.

Considering a FIIO K17 or a Topping A900 ot something else.

This will make them sing -

I've got a HEK Unveiled and I have the Topping DX9 Discrete is a perfect match. Great 1 bit DAC and a very transparent amp to match. What is your budget? If you truly want to make it sing, a tube amp is a great match. K17 is pretty meh... it's over hyped at 1.6k. A900 yes is another level up but you still need a DAC ?

My budget is 3 to 4k. I got a Michi Q5 as a source. Addicted have some great deals on Burson at the moment was considering a Soloist GT4 or the a900

Solid state

The HE1000de are what you would call a rather highly detailed sound so the only way to get a match that suits your individual hearing is to organise a visit to a retail outlet and check out the various different amps - you can exchange all the opinions in the world and not a bad idea to get a starting point but you do need to do some specific listening yourself - A2A is a good place to start and they know the 'phones quite well.

If you're into building kit amps (DIY), there's a whole world of different designs.

Also, don't forget to check out different "after-market" headphone cables too - they do make quite a difference - notice that word "difference", not "better"
