I am looking to paint my theatre black, i have seen a few options but not sure which is best, can you recommend me a paint

I recommend a matt finish, but brush strokes will show up (especially on the ceiling in front of the screen).  The problem areas are often where you cut in with a brush and then roll next to it.  Also with a matt finish any marks on the walls will show up and you'll struggle to clean them without making it look worse.  In the end though, matt black ends up with a great result.

 

I used the Haymes Expressions range in a matt finish, black with extra dark tint for the ceiling, and a dark chocolate for the walls.  The biggest effect in the finish will be the quality of your painter, of which I'm very happy with who I used.  No visible brush strokes anywhere.
