Muscle Mat - thick shaggy rug for room treatment

Featured Replies

Did a quick search and couldn't find a mention of these, and as I'd never heard of them before a couple of weeks ago I thought I'd post them here.

I saw one of these at my nephew's place and have subsequently ordered a couple for my lounge room.

Stupid name, but essentially these are a shaggy, 35mm thick foam rug that works well to tame a lively room.

A couple of tips if you decide to try one:

Do a Google search for Muscle Mat discount code. You can often find 10-15% off codes.

Once unwrapped leave it flat without anything on it for 4-5 days as they are shrinkwrapped at the factory and need to time to fully expand to the end thickness.

I was all excited than as I thought it said Shag on mat😉

Looks like a more convenient version of what I use; a 100% wool, 2cm thick, cut pile rug over two layers of Bunnings foam underlay.

Works very well as claimed above, and is nice to sit on too.

I'm sure they'd work fine for that too 🙂
